Re: My latest acquisition... The spring knob will not adjust to give enough tension for the bridge to properly lock. I lock the bridge, tune up, and in the middle of tuning the lock just pops into the unlocked position. Needless to say this guitar is supposed to be in "perfect condition," so I'm sending the thing back. |

Re: My latest acquisition... The dude emailed me and said that he'd been busy and asked his brother to ship the guitar but his brother never did... ![]() So he's shipping it Priority Mail on Monday the 6th. Now all I need is a string adapter. And a new amp. BTW I'm trading my brother's violin in at a local music shop for at least $100. Any ideas as to what to buy besides like strings and crap that I can get cheaper online? |

Re: My latest acquisition... Yeah, Drow Swordsman had a GFS pickup in one of his guitars and he said that it was good but didn't suit his needs properly. I'm cruising probably for a Bigmouth in the bridge and ordering a Premium Alnico Vintage strat pickup set, then pawning the bridge pickup from that set off on ****. --- I sent payment to the "correct" PayPal account for the guitar for the dude on the 30th. He said in the listing he'd ship day after payment received. He sent me no ship confirmation or confirmation of receiving payment or ANYTHING on the 31st. On top of that he listed a new item on the 31st. Lazy noob. I hope he gets the guitar here before August 15 when the Steins [supposedly] get back in stock on Musicyo, because then I'll be pissed because I could have just ordered a new one and got it guaranteed. |

Re: My latest acquisition... GFS pickups are a great value. I don't think you'd be disappointed if you bought a set for your Steinberger. |

Re: My latest acquisition... Well your not going to get much of a strat sound out of this guitar anyways.. HS-2's, Class of 55', and Virtual Vintages are really good, or even a red velvet. I know price is an issue, but if your patient, used dimarzio's pop up on the bay and here all the time. |

The only thing I dont like about this body shape is the fact that the 2 "wings" at the end of the body look like 2 fat ass cheeks being spread apart by the bridge. That aside I don't think I can justify spending $180 to upgrade a $300 guitar, especially to the powers that be (which would be my mommy). |

Indeed that is the plan. I'm going for some GFS pickups. However a quick question: If I want to swap out the humbucker and the single coils, does that entail buying like a bridge humbucker and a strat pickup set and not using the strat bridge pickup? The only thing I dont like about this body shape is the fact that the 2 "wings" at the end of the body look like 2 fat ass cheeks being spread apart by the bridge. |

Re: My latest acquisition... Man. The dude emailed me and said that he had the wrong PayPal account tied to his Bay account (since he started the account he's on to replace his old one which has 98% feedback). He refunds my payment then I pay him again with the account linked to his Bay account, but instead of simply linking the correct account he wrote in the comment for the PayPal refund "use this (____) account instead thanks!" So now I have to wait for him to refund AGAIN and then send to the correct account. Does doing this invalidate my fraud protection? This guy seems trustworthy but I don't want my hard earned cash to go down the crapper. |

Basically it just details my "befuddlement" with some of his philosophies, tells him that I bought a MusicYo Steinberger, tells him how I pretty much have to use GC because of local shops around here being lacking, and then asks him how the shop move is going. He's going to send an email back that's at least semi rude, then tell you to buy a Pearlcaster. |
