Item number: 270222887655 Thanks Keep an eye out for RG750s too. I have 2 of them and they are as good as the 550, but have sharkteeth, rosewood boards and binding. They seem less popular and I've seen them go for pretty good prices. |

Re: RG550 1990 Patience is the key. I was getting frustrated when looking for my RG770. Luckily I passed on a few chipped, dinged cracked models and found a excellent condition one for cheaper than the dinged ones went for on the Bay. It'll come eventually. ![]() |

Re: RG550 1990 Yea after thinking about its not in great condition, and i spoke to the seller and apparently someone offered him £350 for it which i think is way to much. I suppose the wait continues, thanks |

Re: RG550 1990 The 1990 RG750 I have is probably the best Ibanez I've ever played. I think '90 was a good year. Quote:

For what it's worth, I have a '90 RG550 and it is construction-wise and hardware-wise the best 6-string I have played. Built like a tank. |

Re: RG550 1990 Personally I'd wait a bit longer for a better one - there's a black one listed which looks to be in far better condition but you've probably seen that already. The 'odd scratches' look a bit more than that to me but ultimately it's down to how desperate you are to grab one. |

Re: RG550 1990 After considering the extra costs you'd probably be better off waiting for one to pop up on e-Bay UK, because even if it sold for it's current high bid you'd still end up paying at least £400. |

Re: RG550 1990 Looks pretty good to me - minor cosmetic damage but for a guitar of that age that's pretty much to be expected. You'll need to factor in a few things mind - doesn't look like Paypal's an option so it'll cost you to raise a money order, shipping's likely to be in the region of £75 and import duty will set you back an additional 22% or so on top of that. Oh yeah, and just to add insult to injury, Parcelforce will charge you a handling fee if they're the carrier on this side of the pond. I imported an RG20051 from a seller in the US which was a really good price but got stung for £130 import tax over here!! Still made it a good price but worth checking out the customs and excise web site for details before you commit. If someone could find a way of avoiding (legally) the dreaded import tax, importing would be a far more attractice option |
