Re: Ibanez Rescue Institute: RG550 +12345 on not swirling. That said, what do you plan to do instead? Anything unusual for an RG, like maybe a sunburst of some sort? And as for the frets, what wire do you plan to use - good ol' 6105? |

kotornut, only problem with doing an RG body like that one in the link is this body is front routed with a pick guard. Unless I found away to radi it and it looking good. |

Re: Ibanez Rescue Institute: RG550 When you say it'll need a fret job do you mean replacement wire or just a good cleaning and polishing? The one closeup pic you posted doesn't show any grooves or real wear, just a ton of grime. I love stuff like this - can't wait to see it in progress! |

Re: Ibanez Rescue Institute: RG550 Well I found away to remove stain, almost any stain from light wood. I turned a rosewood board white in some spots by mistake working some stuff im testing (and no it isnt Clorox Bleach). I was think about maybe a Egyp art work guitar..hmm |

Re: Ibanez Rescue Institute: RG550 Strip it, then fix the issues on the body, and then try going back to a nice natural look. It is basswood, so you'll have to stain/paint it darker to make it nice. |

Re: Ibanez Rescue Institute: RG550 I wouldnt mind the natuarl ala RB but they did a piss poor job so I have to strip it. |
