Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Just need to decide between a black 1620 or a 2620 like yours.

Should probably go for the cheaper 1620 as i accidentily bought an RG2550Z last week whilst browsing in the store.

Thanks again
I didn't like the black (the 1620 i black here, but I think I have seen it in red too) seeing it on pictures but had to get one after seeing it in real life.
The bindings and inlays look better on the 2620, but the 1620 looks amazing too.
They feel exactly the same, my 2620 is a bit lighter (I had that one handpicked among all the ones existing here) and little more open in the treble, but the difference is very small.
I will have chrometop pickups (see picture below) in the black, and I think that will look killer.

Iím sure you will like it.
It feels like a RG for grownups.

This actually could be exactly what I need. Pretty sure my next purchase will be fixed bridge, and dont really think I even saw the FR's until this post, certainly didnt realise how cool that shape is.

Only one question, which is a bit...erm...wimpy. Hows the finish holding up? Particularly on the hardware. Wearing off? Irreversible tarnish?

I only ask because I dont mind if I drop a guitar or hit it on something and chip the paint or whatever. My fault, its tough.
But I DESPISE the cosmo black hardware just falls away as soon as you look at it from across the room (and same for the similar/identical finished used by other brands). Was wondering how the Chrome hardware on the FR's is doing.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing them.
(Oh, and put the pickguard back on!)

Cheers
I have done maybe 20-30 gigs with the guitar, and countless practice and studio job, and there are no sign of wear yet. I feel that finish on hard wear have been loads better on Ibanez gear over the last years. I also did a DiMarzio clinic with it at Fuzz GuitarShow here in Sweden and got loads of comments on the look, that it looks better in real life then ob picture.

I still freaking love the guitar, it sounds amazing, plays amazing and looks killer.
I change the neck pickup again, to a Bluesbucker (had a Breed before), to get it even wider in use. The balance when standing up feels a bit different then an RG, but it is easy to get used to and now I donít think about it anymore.
I also changed the tuners to locking ones, just to speed up the string change process, it was staying in tune perfect with the original ones.

Wow, Seeing it without the pickguard makes me want one.

I still prefer the look of the artists however.

ANOTHER model that's not available in every finish everywhere?!?!?!!!???
Grrrrr, I just can't make sense of it. It's the twenty-first century, there are planes and ships criss-crossing the planet. Getting consumer goods from one place to another is not one of our problems.

As an owner of both teles and Ibanez this looks right up my street...
as someone else mentioned definitely worth a shout on the second hand market in 2 or 3 years time..

(I'm through with buying new... having a daughter dents the budget slightly!)

Wow. beautiful guitar! Taste is subjective but the designers really did a nice job with the curves on the back and the top bout. The guitar gives this impression of forward motion (like a hot sports car) and just makes you want to play it. The wood this one has looks really nice, too. I wonder how much it vibrates and how it sounds. Congrats!

yea, they're good as much as i know, but BE AWARE, do not pull them up if it ever comes to replace the knobs, because they would break immediately. i broke 3 of those without pulling any hard. but this apart, they're good
