Re: Need help finding a replacement bridge

I went with a new black Original Floyd Rose. It seemed a lot better than the (broken) Lo TRS II. I found it on flee-Bay. I think I paid 60 dollars for it.
I'd like to find something to make it a "dive only" wammy set up.

Welcome to Jemsite!

You and courtney2018 should talk, I bet you two technically savvy ladies will hit it off.

Re: Need help finding a replacement bridge

thanks for the welcome. the one thing that worried me about the TRS is someone posted a pic on another forum that showed the width of the block to be 60mm. if that's the case i'd have to cut out some of the insides of the guitar for it to fit and i'm a bit nervous to do that

The Takeuchi TRS-101 should drop right in, as should the Gotoh Floyd or even maybe the Original Floyd Rose.

I would tell you to try and snag a used Gotoh or OFR before going with the TRS. However, if Herman Lee can make a TRS work, then I am sure you can.

Oh yeah, welcome!

Need help finding a replacement bridge

I pulled my RG270DX out for the first time in years and want to clean it up and install some new hardware

First to go is the old single lock bridge...

This was the main reason I quit playing this guitar. Anytime I used the tremolo the guitar would go way out of tune and it was because of this cheap crappy bridge.

I was hoping to replace it with a double locking bridge but I cannot afford much more than $100

I was actually looking at a Takeuchi TRS-101 (guitarpartsresource.com has one for $99) but not sure if it will fit. I took measurements with a tape measure and had to convert the inches to mm so these figures might not be 100% (such as the post spacing showing 73.818mm instead of 74mm... i'm sure i just made a mistake measuring)

How could I tell what replacements would fit? I really don't trust myself using a dremel on my guitar... I want it to continue looking nice as it does now, I don't want to tear it up any.

Has anyone upgraded their bridge in an RG270DX that can give me some advice/opinions?

Thanks!
