Re: NEW PGM AT NAMM 2009

If it's AANJ I'll go buy a hat and eat it. An AANJ curve on the upper cutaway changes direction and turns into the neck rather than cope up along side the top of the neck in a 1/x kind of way.
It's a heel joint, probably with a flat thin plate to give it a more vintage look.

I was trying to get an answer for that also but they had it packed up and shipped to LA. There's definitely something different about the joint, and I'd bet on plate joint.

Looks like the neck pup is closer to the bridge. Other RG dual humbucker style guitars have the neck 'bucker right on the bottom of the neck, which means that there's no wood between the 'bucker route and the neck route. That guitar has wood there.

So you're right! That guitar's got wood!

I bet it's got something to do with Paul's search for tone. I wonder if it's also got the old square heal.

The pups look like they are too close, no?! Should be true "f" holes.

Re: NEW PGM AT NAMM 2009

Would seem odd to give Paul a re-issue for an anniversary model as he has plenty of one off designs he could decide to be a 20th.

Also, would they re-issue a trem model given that he is a hard tail only guy these days!!??

I would certainly love a PGM100 though

As was said on the RacerX forums, probably a reissue of the 100 or 200. I still say Paul should have gotten a Millenium model.

Paul is getting a PGM 20th! From the Ibanez board today:

"For 2009, we will be celebrating a milestone in our relationship with one of the greatest guitarists of all time. 20 years of PGM goodness. And in keeping with Ibanez tradition, the 20-year mark earns this great musician a 20th Anniversary model.

Can anyone guess what it might be?

Ok, I'll give you some hints...

- It has the letters "RE" in the model number.
- It has two distinct, vibrant colors.
- Does not have a reverse headstock.

See if you can guess the model...

Re: NEW PGM AT NAMM 2009

I'm looking to buy a new Ibanez and the PGM401 looks nice but at double the price of the current model I'll go with the 301.

More a path of least resistance than a total sellout - LOL! I know better than to try to argue with Rich.

I do like the way the guitar looks, but I'd have ordered one already if it was reverse. I can't help it if I'm weird.

Just poking fun at TAorama for flipping his position

Yes, it's always good to be in the company of people who know everything. Now if GuitarBizarre would be kind enough to post another F-Zero character to keep the tweeners on this site amused, that would just be nifty as well!

Ha ha, beaten into submission.

The issue was not that you asked the question, but that you wouldn't accept the straight-forward simple answer. Looks like it's all good now, though.
