Re: Ibanez V1/S1/V2 Stock Pups

they are highly underrated, and probably get a bad rap because they are "stock" pickups. I've actually put them in custom guitars (like my lefty 540pii). The S1 in the neck position is actually a really really nice pickup.

Re: Ibanez V1/S1/V2 Stock Pups

I have a 20th Anniversary RG with these as stock pups and I couldn't agree with you more.

The variety of sounds I can get out of this guitar, from growly humbucker distortion to nice Stratty cleans, is one of the best things about it.

Ibanez V1/S1/V2 Stock Pups

I just put all the hardware & electronics from and early 90's RG550 into a 555 body/neck.

I was worried about how the stockers would sound (got the 550 in parts) after the EVO's.

I can safely say:

V1/V2's are damn nice pickups. Slightly hotter PAF sound but plenty of cream. I really like them, the gat sounds great.

I have never come across stock pups that sound this good.... but havn't tried a super 500 either...
