A collection based on Rg500 and RG700 with the straigth old neck joint, wich guitars should this collection include? Wich guitars would be most difficult to find?
RG505 RG550 RG560 RG565 RG570 RG580 RG750 RG760 RG765 RG770 Do I miss something? |

Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
RG765 would be hardest to find.
I'm not really sure what an RG505 or RG580 is? You also missed the RG517, RG521 and probably a few others I'm forgetting. |
Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
There were a few more RG5xx's.......it might be tough to find them all.....LOL
RG517 RG527R RG527RLTD RG535 RG540 RG542AH RG547AH RG548 RG550-R RG550MXX RG550RXX RG560L RG570MH RG581 I would try to collect one each of the RG7xx's and as many 5xx's as you can afford (and appeal to you) |
Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
Well he already has the RG765, so he's got the hard one out of the way there LOL!
I'd look for a '92-93 RG770 with direct mount pickups. You could also look for an RG770DX that had a clear pickguard and maple fretboard. RG760's are great guitars and really easy to find. RG750's are probably the most rare of the regular production 700 Series, but still not overly difficult to find. If you really want to get picky, there is an RG770FM that had a flame maple veneer top. One other guitar you could try to get is an RG1200. |
Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
oooohhh......the 1200!! it makes me cream just thinking about it. Great suggestion.
Don't forget that the early USA customs are hot-rodded RG7xx's.....you'll need one or two of them for you collection. |

Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
I think the one I've never seen for sale is the RG750 with the built in wireless transmitter. I'm not sure if many of those actually sold, and if it's possible to spot the difference at a glance, but if you collect, it would be a decent piece - at least for me. :) Also, you would have to get the years and colors right.

Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
Once again, I do not want to collect the AANJ-models. Several of this guitars that are mentioned in this thread have the AANJ. And yes due to finance issues I't will take a while to collect these guitars. The 700 series seems a bit easier to do. Maybe I'll start with that.

Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
aanj is good bro, whats with the hate, it feels good and plays good so id go for it, you knom sayn?

Re: RG500 and RG700 collection?
I don't hate the AANJ guitars, I know a lot of people think its good. I have a few guitars with the AANJ but I don't feel like collecting them. I prefer the old straigth neck joint and thats why I will collect them. It looks way better also.
