Ibanez rgr465m or rg3xxv? Worth the price difference?

Hello all!

I'm new in here, so some info about me. I'm 32 years old, live in France and i play guitar for 15 years. I play mainly metal and my main influences are players like Paul Gilbert, Petrucci, Vai, well, the usual suspects. :)

I have a serios GAS for an Ibanez rgr465m or rg3xxv, my first Ibanez, moving from a Fender Telecaster and a Jackson DK2M. This guitar's HS config and the maple neck kills me...

Now, as i live in Europe, i can get the Ibanez rgr465m for around 400 Euros and rg3xxv for about 600. The only difference between the 2, AFAIK, is the tremolo. I will use the tremolo for the ocasional dive bombs, but my playing style is more around the Michael Lee Firkins style (some nuances on notes). So, i will use the tremolo but not abuse it all the time.

So what do you think? Do you think the 200 Euros price difference between the 2 is worth spending?

Is the (rgr465m) Edge III that bad? Ok, the Edge-Zero II is better (no experience with any, this is just from what i read), but is the Edge III fine on it's own and will get a killer shred guitar with rgr465m or is it better to wait to get the cash for the rg3xxv?

Thanks for your opinions!

The Edge Zero II is a better quality bridge. If you're not using the bridge heavily the Edge III will hold up for a good while, but it you can afford to go with the Edge Zero II equipped one.

Yeah, the edge III isnt very good. If you can afford the RG3xxv then it would be a better choice. Or you can do as I did. I bought a used RGR465 and changed the tremolo to edge pro.

This could be an option... Is this a drop-in, simple replacement?

Yes, Edge Pro fits an Edge 3 route well. Still, consider that you're adding about $300 US to the price of the guitar. EZ 2 is a great trem, definitely better than Edge 3.
