NOGD: 1992 Ibanez RG770DX Violet Metallic

Bought my old RG770DX back a few days ago. Sold this a while back to a girl from Dublin, always regretted it if truth be told so when it popped up for sale last week I couldn't resist. Great guitars these and no need to swap out the pups either. Can't tell you how well this thing plays.

Beautiful...I am intrigued with that color. I also know the joy of getting back "the one that got away." Enjoy.

Thank you guys, much appreciated!!

@gauchosilvertone: Yeah the colour is really cool on those, certainly the rarest of the 770DX models, only available in 1992/1993. The only other guitar I can think of with the Violet Metallic finish was the RG670DX VM. Those came after the 770DX's were discontinued, equally hard to find but with AANJ and black Quantum/inferior pickups imho.

I remember when these came out.. I knew a guy who had one and I will never forget the 1st time I saw it. I was blown a way. It was the apex of shred coolness:mrgreen: don't see too many colored inlays like that..looks super cool on that maple
have fun!

Cheers Fellas!! They are great guitars for sure, if only Ibanez would go back to these finishes with THAT bridge, THOSE pups and THAT neck profile!! If I had to pick a stock Ibanez and keep it stock then barring the J Customs I'd probably go for an early 7XX series model.

@Metalgod72: Yeah, wise move. I think I saw your's up for sale, can't believe nobody bought it, if I was in the US it would have sold. If you......the owner of an amazing array of Ibanez guitars....can't bear to part with it then it really says something about the quality of these old RG's.

Congratulations P!! How great it is to have her back. Fortunately it looks like the girl you sold it to kept it in good shape.

I still think that VM and HP are the same color........LOL

We're gonna have to meet up and compare your 760 with my 770 Ryc. I reckon you're closer to me than I am to you so you must visit....

Yeah the girl did take pretty good care of it...fitted a brass sustainer block too...hey bonus!! I have the original Lo Pro Edge one if anyone's interested??

Oh yeah...I almost forgot...this very guitar in action...played by the girl I sold it to. I met up with her last week to buy it back. Nice girl Sarah....thanks if you're reading this..
