Re: Drop C tuning on my S540...string guage?

I personally use 11's for Drop C (Ernie Ball Power Slinky's) but then I like the feel of 10s in standard. If you want the feel of 9's in standard then you're probably going to want to go with 10's...

Re: Edge or ZR?

From a useable standpoint, I think that the ZR is simply designed better than the Edge trems. The fine tuners are awesome, the intonation tool helps out greatly, and it is definitely the smoothest...

Re: EVO's and Pinch Harmonics

The best pickup for pinch harmonics have to be REAL EMGs, hands down. I have found that the EMG 85 in the bridge produces some of the best pinch harmonics that I've ever heard and you can make them...

Re: whats a good bedroom amp?

I personally love my Line 6 Spider II 112 for the bedroom. For a SS amp (and for the price) it has great tone and a great diversity of tones. Plus, I can be loud or quiet with it and it sounds good...

Re: favorite pickup for soloing (nominations)

I'm going to have to go with dual EMG 85s in both the neck and the bridge simply because it's my favorite pickup in the world right now. It's got the same bite and power of the EMG 81 with an added...

Re: What's the absolute BEST Prestige model RIGHT NOW?

With a trem, I would say that the best new Prestige models are the RG2550 and RG2570. But if you want a fixed bridge then I would definitely check out either the RGA121 or the RGA321.

Re: Meshuggah sound in B tuned RG550?Which PU..?

I would also agree that EMGs are the way to go. I've actually gotten to a point where I can't stand using any pickups BUT EMGs simply because I've gotten use to the clarity and power that they...

Meh, I probably would've wasted them anyway.

Re: in the 200-300 range

I dunno how good a used RG5xx guitar you can find for 300 bucks. Your best might is probably to get an Ibanez RG321MH since they can be had for $280 brand new.

Re: OMG LOL crazy kids and there mosh pits.

I totally agree that this new age moshing is just rediculous. I rememeber back in the day when just bumping back and forth with people was plenty enough but now they're throwing punches and kicks...

Re: Has anyone done this to their ZR tremolo?

I did the same mod to mine not too long ago and I love it.

Re: Edge Pro vs ZR

I dunno which one I like better because they are different and have a different feel. The ZR is super smooth and that has it's uses but the Edge Pro has knife edges which give the trem a different...

That was definitely a good one. I learned alot about Pantera that I didn't know. Thanks for letting us all know about it!

Re: wtf is with these new non trem, locking bridges??

The fixed edge gives you the advantage of fine tuners and is still the most meticulous system for tuning to my knowledge. There are plenty of other methods out there but to each their own.

Re: Taking off all the strings on a floating trem...

I generally just use cardboard since it's always laying around from something and it's easy to get in and out. If your guitar is going to be floating then there's no point in worrying about whether...

Re: Favorite Ozzy guitarist

Mr. Jemsite does make a good point in that Tony Iommi was/is Black Sabbath which is definitely NOT Ozzy.

But my fav Ozzy guitarist is Randy Rhoads by far!!

Re: staying in tune after trem use

Now I know that if my Edge III can stay in tune perfectly with trem usage that a Lo Pro Edge should be able to do the same. I always just make sure and stretch the crap out of ALL of the strings and...

Re: String changing tip.... if you don't do it, try it!

Yeah, it's just called stretching the strings and I would hope that most everyone is doing this now but I've noticed that everyone ISN'T. Even the guys from my band had never seen it done and when I...

Re: New pups for my RG370

If you're going to do it, then you'll probably want to get one of the pickguards from another RG so that you KNOW it'll atleast fit properly.

Re: RG350DX Floyd Rose Help

I dunno, they may be right about it fitting better. I've heard that the Original Floyd Rose is too long for the Edge III route even though it lines up properly, so if the Floyd Pro isn't quite as...

Re: Specs for this RG 320 DX QM

Ahh, that's a pretty common guitar. I can actually rattle off the specs from memory:

2004 Indonesian Ibanez RG320DXQM

24 Fret Wizard II neck
Bound Rosewood Fretboard
Basswood body with...

Re: should i do this? 3 EMG humbuckers in a RG1077XL?

Dude, I actually said that directly to one of the EMG tech guys and he slowly agreed with me but obviously he doesn't have any control over that.

Re: should i do this? 3 EMG humbuckers in a RG1077XL?

Well, you're going to have the route the guitar anyway to fit in those humbuckers but I dunno if there will be enough room for a third humbucker. Personally, I would just install EMGs in the neck...
