I'm not sure. The EJ strat is a very good guitar. The 2450 MCP is new, but I'm not sure the value is there. Many JS players will prefer the 22 fret model.

Which one do you want?

There is a JEM with two extra frets below the normal fretboard, tuned to D. Only one made, and Vai has it (I guess still).

It's not really any different than guitars with longer scale, is it?

That is the Lo-Pro Edge. You should be able to find a replacement from Rich (IbanezRules) or eBay. Only way to avoid wear is to not touch the tremolo. It will happen over time, also if you replace it...
