I think many years ago Japanese RGs were made at various Japanese factories, until 450s on down were outsourced. I believe this occurred in the early 90s, but Rich would be the expert on that.

In a guitar that nice, I'd install a Schaller sure claw. put one in my Roadstar 2 & my 520qs. The adjustment range is far superior to conventional claw screws.

I have an RG520QS from 2001. Essentially the late 90s early 2000 fugijen models were the precursor to what is now marketed as the prestige line. Incredibly they can be had for reasonable coinage.
