Re: Anyone else waiting on a JIVA?

Thanks! I saw 19-22mm, which I think is just a little bit thinner than my '10 American Standard Strat which is a good neck for me if I am not mistaken. I can play the RG necks longer than I can other...

Re: Anyone else waiting on a JIVA?

Did you ever pick up a JIVA? Wondering what you think. How's the neck compared to an American Standard strat from around 2010 for example? I've been shopping around for a third guitar, but I can no...

Les Paul bridge question...

This is probably a stupid question to begin with... but hey what's that say about me? (stupid people ask stupid questions).

I have an older Les Paul Classic with the thinner bridge that limits...

Re: How much for tubes?

red5 the tube guy here..... okay well maybe that didn't sound as good as I was aiming for...

Most Mesa tubes are rebranded Sovteks anyway.... you can do a lot better....

If I am not mistaken,...

Re: Question on choosing graphics cards

If you have PCI Express, get a 7600gt. It outperforms the X1800 by quite a bit and the last time I checked, costs significantly less too.

I built a box for my sister for her birthday back in July...

Re: End of a 3 year old relation

You are still young... be thankful that you could keep a girl for three years at your age... Three months is pretty good for me....

Re: WTB:Jem 7V WH older model for 1000

I'm probably going to sell mine... it is near mint... only wear and tear is some gold paint rubbing off the bridge. It hasn't been played all that much as I left my "cheaper guitars" on the stand...

Re: My Carvin arrived today!!!

I have a DC127 too. It has the lowest action of any guitar I have ever played, and other Carvin owners have told me the same about theirs.... got it setup yet? :)

Seriously, when I bought it I...

Re: Need help on next guitar, thank you!

Les Pauls sound great, but aren't player friendly due to their weight, neck size and single cutaway.

RGs can get you smoother lead tones depending what you put into them for pickups. Les Pauls...

Re: Just bought a Bray 1987x(pics)

LOL! No, it's a JCM 900 SL-X (although after a few small mods, it sounds more like a four tube plexi now. I had the transformer swapped with a '68-'80 Marshall spec 100 watt transformer by...

Re: Marshall to Announce New Model

Yeah 5881s have more bass but stay cleaner. That is pretty much a given. But my point was basically quality matters a bit more with EL34s or else you'll end up with something like JJs that hold no...

Re: Can someone help me with my ESP?

You mean 90s or before. My Mirage Custom which is the previous model to the M-II, I'd say no later than '86, has the same bridge. I am most certain it is stock because every picture of a Mirage has...

Re: Can someone help me with my ESP?

I got a Mirage Custom not too long ago. It's essentially the same thing but H-S-S, ebony fretboard, binding around the neck and headstock, and neck-thru. Very nice guitar and definitely a keeper,...

Re: I painted an EVH 5150 replica and got in trouble

The original JP Les Pauls sold new for under $3000. The subsequent reissues were of very limited quantity and sold new for a lot and probably sell used for more. Even if you have an originals in...

Re: I painted an EVH 5150 replica and got in trouble

No I don't. I know he is paying others to do it for him, and probably spending time he could be touring doing it as well. He seriously is paranoid about anyone mentioning his name or painting...

Re: new pups

BKP (Bare Knuckle Pickups) Nailbomb in the bridge, VHII in the neck and a Slowhand in the middle. Definitely.

Re: Marshall to Announce New Model

Well it's all in the eye of the beholder really. It doesn't need to be bass but usually it's mids.. more bass would be fuller or bigger or ballsier or whatever....

I don't think you can say...

Re: Marshall to Announce New Model

What are you saying? In say ten more years, JCM 2000s will be good compared to what Marshall is putting out then? I'm scared to see the day...

Same thing...lower wattage EL34... can't we...

Re: Marshall to Announce New Model

Haha the first reply is what I thought... a SL-X with KT66s (and some new options too).

Re: Slant or straight

Exactly. I will always use a slant if I am only using one cabinet... and two cabs is pretty overkill since the invention of the PA system....

Slants are also better for recording, mic better and...
