None at all. There was nothing at all wrong with it. The active sound is something I was trying to get away from as I had a guitar with emgs. The deactivators definately do that sound but I just find...

I had one for 2 years. It was an excellent guitar. The only thing I didn't like was the deactivators. The guitar itself played great and had no neck dive even though you would think it would. Great...

For ease of transport id go with the combo. Though when I had the vk head I was playing through a Marshall 1936 which sounded great. thats the great thing about owning amp heads.

Theres plenty of things you can do to get better tones out of it. A tube screamer with the volume up and gain down sounds great. Also if you plug an empty jack into input 1 and your guitar into input...

I have a mahogany explorer with a paf pro neck and a super distortion bridge. Being a huge racer x , Mr big and Gilbert fan I find it really nails the tone. The tone zone should get you there as well.
