Re: JP7 Second hand value?

Yeah, I had a bit of a shock when I saw the US used prices, but when you add on delivery to the uk, insurance and duty it adds up quite a bit. I've had one gentleman on a facebook group suggesting...

JP7 Second hand value?

I live in the UK, and just bought a music man JP7 for £1350.

It is pretty standard. Natural headstock, no fancy inlays, no piezo.

Usually I try to find secondhand prices before buying, but...

Effect Pedals with True Bypass causing loud Pop

Has anybody encountered a problem with pedals using true bypass causing a loud popping noise when being turned on?

Our bassist has a pedal that is doing this, and we're frightened him using it...

Re: A new baby waiting for a bridge pup!

The Tone Zone is one hell of a pickup when used in the right axe. If you can EQ an amp you can get a great sound from one. Those mids can get boomy at low tunings, but nothing you can't fix with a...

Re: Need adivce CL/LF sounds terrible, Didn't like Paf7's either :(

One last thing... Try your setup with another cab, with either mixed, or different speakers. Who knows, you might get the sound you like. JP has a very specific live/studio rig, and no doubt, these...

Re: Need adivce CL/LF sounds terrible, Didn't like Paf7's either :(

Sounds like you're trying to reference a lot of different sounds here... I think you're going to need to think outside the box to get close here.. You like thrash, and a lot of this is in the bridge:...

Cruiser Bridge (In Bridge) Anyone tried?

Hi All,

Has anyone here had experience putting a Cruiser bridge in the bridge of a strat type instrument? I know a lot of people have tried it the Andy Timmons way, but I'm interested in its...

Re: Picking some DiMarzio pickups.

For all of those requirements I think you're going to need something that isn't massively colouring your tone 'cause you're going to be looking to you amp, pedals etc for the majority of your shape....

Re: DiMarzio Drop Sonic, Paf Pro or Super Distortion

X2N is a very different pickup. Is it JUST the bass you want to improve from your D Sonic, or are there other things that concern you?

Re: DiMarzio Drop Sonic, Paf Pro or Super Distortion

PAF Pro is a great ALL round pickup. Does everything nicely-nicely, and growls when you need it too. It's also great as a reference pickup, when you want to replace stocks, but aren't sure what you...

Re: Best 7 string set for emg81-7/85-7 p/u config

I quite like D'addarios, but I tend to go for whatever I can get for the least money. Lately this has been Rotosounds / staggs

Re: new guitar-pickups

D Sonic is a great pickup for Drop Tuning. Lower output models are nice too. A regular unassuming PAF Pro in the bridge can do wonders on Drop B / C.

As for a guitar, I love Jackson USA...

Re: Gain Boost Pot?

I reckon if you're a straight into the amp player loving passive tone, the onboard overdrive is a fantastic way to change your sound up quickly. Fantastic for the living room, and still kind of...

Re: Choosing new pickups

I would go to a local music store and Give a guitar similar to your own with active pickups in a blast through your own setup. If you like what you hear you can think about EMG/Duncan.

If you...

Re: EMG "Het set" Hetfield pickups

I like the cover, put would prefer the option NOT to have EMG on the front.

Then it truly would be "stealth" imo It's actually quite standoutish compared to other EMGs what with the colour, and...

Re: EMG "Het set" Hetfield pickups

From A-B tests I've heard I didn't think they sounded better than the 81/60 combo. This may be a cynical attitude derived from watching Metallica growing more and more commercial over recent years...

Re: Question about "Seymour Duncan Blackouts Active Humbucker Set"

I would say yes too. But when using active pickups there's a higher degree of colouration from the pickups. Where's the sonic ratio in passives may be 50/50 between pickups and wood, active are...

Re: L500XL

On a telecaster forum I saw a post recommending Cream Music in Frankfurt, Germany. I'm not sure if these are real, fake, original, or whatever though, as I'm not up on the lawsuit stuff.

Re: D Activator review

I think of D-activators less as EMG copies, and more as a Steve's Special on steroids. They have far to much headroom to truly capture the balls to the walls EMG crunch (as these frequently do the...

Re: I love the Tone Zone..

One Meg volume pot can fix a boomy tone zone in basswood/mahogany. Great pickup in Mahogany with a maple top.
