Re: Pickups for an Ibanez 540r

If I can avoid routing the cavities that would be good. So I'll keep that in mind. Did you apply anything to protect the wood inside after routing? That my actual worry.

Re: Pickups for an Ibanez 540r

Yeah, I might grab a Mo'Joe instead of the Fred to test it out. I think I'll plug the original single coils back in to test them again. I only played with them back when I originally got the guitar...

Pickups for an Ibanez 540r

Jesus, it has been several years since I visited this forum, let alone post here. Last post is from 2014!

In the time in between, I took a long break from playing consistently, maybe would do it a...

Re: New Kiko Loureiro signature model

A couple of corrections. He never left Angra. In fact he is on tour with them as we speak. Also, I never heard anything Neo Classical from him. His solo albums are all Rock Fusion with a Brazilian...

Re: What pedals are these?

The white one is a Boss Digital Delay, and the one with the number 3 on the side is a Boss Octave. The other two I don't recognize. Maybe someone else here, will :)

Nice! Mine is also an '88 HSS, but in Jewel Red. You can see some pics here: Click! (https://plus.google.com/photos/118347786644866508561/albums/5770291681110615393)

Re: 1988 Radius - worth?

I bought mine for $700 give or take a few. But, it had a maple fingerboard which, apparently, after consultation here on the forum, is extremely rare. It is also pretty much my dream guitar, so 700...

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

I rarely use the middle pickup as well, but the tone I get out of the Fast Track 1 is very nice.

Re: Reamping

LOL, I agree :D As I said though, I figured I would need something else other than a PC and a soundcard. What card do you use btw?

Re: Boss GT multi effects pedal with Carvin Legacy

Yep, probably for the best. The most irritating things on the GT units is the compressor and preamp sections. The delay and chorus are actually really good. One thing I miss from the GT-10 is being...

Re: Reamping

That simple? I thought I would have problems with levels and what not and would need some sort of converter, heh. Might try it out this weekend.

Re: Reamping

How do you go from your computer back to the amp? I mean, what do you use for ouput? Reamping is something that I find very cool, but not sure if the gear I have is enough. What I do already is use...

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

That is a fantastic guitar. But the JCustom range is just completely out of reach for someone in Brazil. First because it would be ultra hard to import that here, and second, we are talking at least...

Re: Boss GT multi effects pedal with Carvin Legacy

BTW, to answer your question directly, there are two ways to do this. You can plug the output of your Carvin's FX loop into the input of the GT-8, ouput of the GT-8 into the input of your FX Loop....

Re: Pedalboard advice

I think it's better to have each unit powered separetly, instead of plugging things together. So just buy a second unit to power the tuner, and any other additions.

As for eq/boost, I don't know...

Re: Boss GT multi effects pedal with Carvin Legacy

Most multi-fx will. You only start to get some quality results with top of the line stuff, like the TC Electronic stuff, or the Axe-FX to name a couple. Most floor based units have a tendency to suck...

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

How long has it been since Ibanez has used a H-S-S config on either a RG or Saber? Now that I think of it, it's a combo very rarely seen, if not at all for several years now. Wish they'd do something...

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

The middle pickups on most Ibanez guitars I played are normally very underwhelming. The only ones I liked were the ones that came on the Radius series. So maybe you should look into getting a...

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

There is no space to do it. The Kiko sig model is based on the SA body, so it's quite a bit thicker. On a regular saber, the edge of the body is way thinner than the diameter of the output jack.

Erm, JS25th would've been last year. So it makes perfect sense that they won't bring out one this year :p

Re: 2014 Ibanez Prestige Lineup

Wow, unless I missed something, did Ibanez kill both the Ibz pickups and the ZR trem? That's a bit of a suprise.

Re: NAD that I didnt need

I have a Blackstar HT-50. It's a fantastic amp. The best things about the amp, IMO, are: Very responsive controls, tons of gain, great cleans, and the master volume is fantastic for practicing. You...
