Re: Uppercut series, Collectable?

I don't know the process of that finish but I love the result.

Who know what summer will bring, if anything.

Re: Uppercut series, Collectable?

Not collectible, great player guitars for the audience they were built for so there may or may not be demand depending on how tastes change, but the reason for the price difference is ebony and Bare...

Re: Ibanez JEM7VWH Repair Assistance

Any straight 8 pole switch like a YM50 will work, the 24 pole mega switches were never needed and just a pain to wire. But I always have them in stock and it's a small world.

Re: Help: A Beloved RG2027X With Chewed-Up Knife Edges

You can usually work the curved one out, good luck with the flat one.

Re: Help: A Beloved RG2027X With Chewed-Up Knife Edges

I never said it was going to be easy ;)

All the wires go to one buss line IIRC.

Remember shotgunn mods, used to do all the piezo work on these, converted edge pro's etc. If you're over your...

Re: Should I be worried about this trem angle?

I'd reset it to correct.

If the action is lower because it's negative then the intonation would be flat. If the action is the same the angle isn't going to make a difference.

Re: Should I be worried about this trem angle?

It's not coming back to tune better because it's setup negative. He probably stretched the strings more or something else.

The trem angle doesn't affect tuning return as much as it does set the...

Re: Help: A Beloved RG2027X With Chewed-Up Knife Edges

That's about as bad as I've ever seen. Can't hurt trying to file them but you may have to swap all the piezo over to a different baseplate.

Re: Help: A Beloved RG2027X With Chewed-Up Knife Edges

Re: Rg550 genesis,would you buy?what color?

30 years ago the clearcoats were UV susceptible and would yellow over time altering the original colors. That's not a concern with modern paints. And if you're choosing a color based on what it's...

Re: Help identify and value my 1990 Universe!

Thanks for filling in my blank, yes, FCN. Headstock did continue the odd UK tradition of doing these mongrels though.

Re: Can someone help me with the value on this one?

It is absolutely fake. illegal, can only be sold as a fake, and has little real monetary value.

Re: Help identify and value my 1990 Universe!

Headstock was distributor at the time and they did a lot of custom order assemblies, this is probably one if it was bought new that way. Alot of oddball mongrels were sold new in the UK.

The UVMC...

Re: 2019 Indo Models - anyone have one? how do they stack up?

It was pretty much what I expected. A high rejection rate for blems, bad paint work, several necks. Otherwise the quality of what passed was pretty much as expected. They're price point guitars.

Re: jem77fp question

It doesn't need a shower. How fast is up to you. Obviously the natural humidity it's getting is not enough.

Re: jem77fp question

New guard won't matter, the body shrank. The only cure is humidity, and don't let it shrink again.

Re: Old JEM7VWH in need of repair before I sell it - need opinions

Re: Ibanez AZ or no ?

Yea, the strings all flex out to the treble side on dives so you have to roll off straight but it's more important to roll the back side to the treble side or that's where it will bind. Sometimes...

Re: Ibanez AZ or no ?

There are no Ibanez non locking systems that you could expect stability like a double locker. You can get decent dives and float and remain n really good relative tune, but you have to cut the back...

Re: Jem Woody Issues

The body is shrinking, humidify or drill new holes for the guard.
