Backbow?

Essentially, if you have neck relief does that mean that your neck is not backbowed?

I cant really tell at glance, and my neck relief is about .2/.3mm. It looks pretty much straight.

Re: Recommended action for guitar strings (10-52)

Neck relief is .2/.3mm. It's not dead straight, but almost. Just with a bit of curvature.

The problem is buzz with clean tones.

Re: Recommended action for guitar strings (10-52)

I like the treble side at 1.5m (at least)

Actually, maybe this helps (I dont want to steal your thread).

I've got .9's in my RG1570 and with factory set up I couldnt get the bass side lower...

Re: Can you remove the ZPS in an RG?

But is it ok to try to dive bomb with the system on? It feels so hard to pull down the bar that I think I'll break something if I keep forcing it.

By the way, in case I want to take off the...

Can you remove the ZPS in an RG?

I've got my RG1570Z with this system that will make the tuning much more stable (which also makes the use of the whammy much more stiffer) and I'd like to know if you can remove it without too much...

Re: Is it bad to do this?

I'm not following. Do you mean it's meant to work with the blocking system on?

Is it hard to take it off?

Is it bad to do this?

OK, sorry for the maybe misleading title but I couldnt explain it there.

You know about the tremol-no kind of device that comes with the ZPS tremolos on the RG1570's. That thing that will make the...

Mediocre fret work on RG1570?

Ok so I'm in the search of standard low action.. I've ruled everything out. The neck is dead straight to me and I'm getting some fret buzz on the bass side as high as 2.5mm.

The trebble side is...

Re: Half step down tunning, does it need truss rod adjustment?

Cool. Mine is about 1mm at the 9th fret, and I can get it at 1.5mm on the trebble side but it buzzes at 2.4mm in the bass side. I'm guessing bad fret work?

Re: Half step down tunning, does it need truss rod adjustment?

Well, talking about that, how'd you all set it up for a standard low action?

Half step down tunning, does it need truss rod adjustment?

Well, that. I'm tunning down my RG a half step down. Common sense indicates that the less string tension would need less truss rod tension to compensate, so I loosened it a really REALLY tiny bit.

Re: Will the stove harm my guitar?

I know, that's what I want too. I turned the gas heater on at the minimun so it'll let me be inside the room without so much cold.. it should not be bad enough for the guitar. And I'll keep the case...

Re: Will the stove harm my guitar?

Ok. I need to get an hygrometer then.

By the way, with what seasonal changes are you supposed to tight/loose the truss rod?

Re: Will the stove harm my guitar?

Ok, just to clear some things out:

What my old guitar had was a huge front bow between frets 1 and 5, and it could not be fixed with a truss rod adjustment. I might be being paranoid about it.....

Will the stove harm my guitar?

Hello all. I had a crappy guitar before my Prestige Ibanez and it suffered of neck warp. I left it all the time in the stand and I was told that it was because of the stove heat during the winter.

Re: Stiffer strings after intonation setup?

Which could be..?

I think I've gotten used to it already.. to the point that I'm not really sure how much of a change there really was.. I just wanted to check if someone had experienced it...

Re: Stiffer strings after intonation setup?

Yeah, I had to pull the saddles away on all of them.. it makes sense.. Not too much, but you can definitely feel the difference.

Stiffer strings after intonation setup?

I finished intonating my guitar and I feel my strings much more stiffer. My hands are cold and we are in winter but I'm pretty sure it's not that.. it feels like if I had switched strings from .9 to...

Re: How do I set intonation?

So I was doing it the opposite way.. I did it correctly last night and after a long time I managed to get the low E in place..

It took me much more than I expected tho.. I still wonder if that's...

Re: How do I set intonation?

Hmm, yeah, it's pretty straight because I want a low action. I'm happy with that. I dont think it's the problem?

I'm reading Rich's guide more carefully, and it tells me to move the saddle away...

Re: How do I set intonation?

(Thanks for helping again Alaska :))

It's an Edge Zero bridge, there are no claw screws (it's got the rolling thumb thing instead).

I tune the open string, adjust intonation measuring at the...

How do I set intonation?

Ok I'm following Rich's guide and this is supposed to be the easiest part of the set up but it's being the hardest for me..

My E on the last fret is almost an F. I move the saddle closer to the...

Re: Truss rod to reduce buzz?

I got it to about .8 or .9 (hard to meassure really).

The action is about 1.8m on the bass side and I could get it to 1.4m on the trebble without buzzing but put it at 1.5 just to be sure.

Truss rod to reduce buzz?

Hello all. I've got a new RG1570 and I'm doing my first full set up. I want to set action as low as I can since it's pretty high from factory.

The bass side buzzes in the first 5 frets, correct me...
