i use to use the metal zone for my main distortion, but got a mesa nomad, then i got my 5150. though its great for getting that at the gates slaughter of the soul tone. very indutrial sounding....

either that or:3-4 tylonol + 2 or 3 12 oz glasses of water +2 tablespoons of pepto bismol...

^ my first "real" setup i used was a mesa blue angel (clean class A, think mesa super reverb) with a metal zone for distortion. the amp itself was slightly overdriven. it was huge sounding though....

good point jeff. "sound like a mesa" can mean alot of things. the mark series and the recto are two completly different beasts. as are the nomads loanstars etc...

when i hear people ask about mesa...

the stealth can get just as loud as the marshall i'm betting... its 50w when it starts to break up on the power section, fully cranked i bet it puts out closer to 80w in a much smoother and clearer...

MG cab are tiny as hell! they almost look like 4x10s. i'd say just try to score a deal on a used cab. i see full size 4x12s go for 3-400 bucks all the time. my friend got his oversized randall XL...
