Schecter have with price the C-9 on their web site, Ibanez made a big noise at NAMM with the RG-9, so why the delay??

So I just went to Rondo Music's website to look at some 8-strings and something caught my eye. Under the categories '9-String Guitars' was were 8-String Guitars used to be. Nothing is up on the page yet, but what do you guys think of the idea of a 9-String? Do you think it'll be a bassier string...
