Do Suhr and Tom Anderson have patents on this wood combo? It seems like all the high-end stuff are either all American basswood or mahogany/maple. I've perused both the American and Japanese website and found no example of this combination (no, the Premiums do not count; those are just veneer)...
I can't decide between this combinations. Which is the difference between the bolt on and neck through mahogany, tone wise? Because I've read that the neck through predominates the brightness of the maple and is too much brighter than the bolt on. Don't know if it's true. Also I wanna know if...
I have an Rg 1527
and i have decided to get rid of those terrible v7 and v8s
and put in a tone zone for the bridge and an air norton for the neck
Would this be a good choice in pickups?
Im sorry if theirs threads already like this one i did a search but not much came up.
I bought a brand new bolt-on black DT reissue in the mid 90's (1996?) and sold it since. Does anyone know what model it was or if it was featured in any catalogue (japan...).
The specs were:
Bolt on maple neck (2 pcs)
Gloss black w/ matching headstock
Hey guys, I'm selling off a few of my personal guitars to pay some medical bills. This is a Charvel Fusion custom from the early 90's. Its in GREAT shape. The only real place on it is on the tip of the headstock. Its 24 frets, has a Seymour Duncan Distortion in the bridge, two mini-humcker rails...
Just a couple of questions to anyone who might know, i paid £300 for it, but it has v7 and v8 pick ups (usuauly on higher priced ibanez's) , and cool glittery paint, i was curious why its so cheap? most ibanez in that price range tend to not be so good, ie 2xx or 3xx series.
This is about 4 months old max. Basically bought it, got new pickups and put it back in the case as I only play 7's now. It seem a shame to let it go to waste.
Its the now discontinued Mirage Red finish which is like a flip flop red/orange/green. This would look awesome with stage lights...

Hello Jemsiters ,
Any thoughts about similarity, difference, advantages, con and pros between those two beautiful guitars ?
If you can choose, which one will be your ?
For the guys having both of them -is the double or triple priced 10th worth such a money ,regarding cheaper vwh?
Ok, so, about 3 weeks ago I placed a bid on a JS100 on sleaz**** whilst drinking a few too many beers. Sadly enough my bid, the first and only bid on the guitar, was the winner. Yay me!!, I was saving up for a 1k or 12k. I hate beer and the ease of the internet sometimes!!! Like now!!!
I'm stuck in a dilemma. Due to financial reasons I need to get rid of all but one of my guitars. I own a

Hey guys, I'm not playing out anymore and no longer playing extreme metal. So here are two of my stage guitars that I just don't use anymore, so might as well get them to someone who will.
First up: RG350 DX
I bought this in either '96 or '97. It is a players guitar and has some small dings in...
Hello there... I'm new to the forum, and got my first Ibanez today after being a Jackson and Fender user for years.
I was forced to return my fairly new Jackson DK2M because there was a problem with the tremolo system I couldn't fix, and since DK2M's are out of stock in the UK I decided to buy...
i wish to make a pg style replica, using his double neck as the basis
my question is, would a rg170dx be alright for this purpose, is the the basswood close to that of rg370,rg350. and do they have wizard II necks.
also what are the pickups in pg's double neck.
I am thinking of buyinh a used RG prestige 2620 WB. My question is what does WB stand for. I am told its a basswood body but looking at the body its got a quilted top, not sure if its walnut something.
For sale my Ibanez JPM100. This model is from the guitarrist John Petrucci. This model in particular is the rarest of them all. This one was on production anly during 1995 and a few months in 1996. Some unconfirmed fonts estimate that the production of this model was around 100-300 pieces...
