Since I can't find the perfect RG, I'm thinking about collecting the parts to make a "FrankenRG"
Here's the must have:
built in Roland GK pickup (not piezo)
Super Wizard or similar neck (24 fret)
I've never been happy with some of the features of my Prestige 1520GK, namely the...
This project has been going on for the past 4 months or so. I had a spare RG neck, a spare flamed walnut top and a chunk of poplar laying around that I could work with. I wanted something original. My goal was maximum weight reduction and a hard-tail. I chose to do a headless inspired design...
Just had a look at the Ibanez web site. I'm not really a trem fan, so was suprised to see that he most expensive JS is the only one with no trem!!
Yes it does have a mahogany body, but for THAT much! Can't get my head round the marketing there!
Very nice though!
1. What are the reasons this bridge is "better" than the lower model Ibanez fixed bridges?
2. Are the saddles individually adjustable? It looks like the two big screws on either end of the bridge are the only adjustment, don't see any saddle screws.
Anyone have one and want to make any...

I've been using EB 10's since I got my RG550 and recently I've been finding them really tense and bending is not the easiest thing in the world (I've tried stretching them A LOT).
I was just wondering how much of a difference there is with 9's rather than 10's. Would 9's feel looser and help...
I have an Ibanez RG470FM that i'd like to trade for something with a vintage style or hardtail bridge. The 470 appears to be all stock. The only bad thing is that some dip**** painted it! Why the hell anybody would paint over such beautiful wood is beyond me. But like I said, everything else...

I'm trying my hand and building my own custom guitar from the ground up. I've never really worked with wood before, but I'm getting better every day. So far, I've been through two body blanks, 4 neck blanks, and 3 fretboard blanks, LOL. But each on is getting much better than the one before...
