humbucking pickup

Thinking loosely about playing with some of my crappy humbuckers I have floating around (some old infinity's) by opening them up and changing the magnet to a rare earth magnet (neodymium). My thinking is "stronger magnet, stronger pickup"... I feel like the tone would be absolutely too bright...
