Well, I just picked up Paul Gilbert's new album and I really like it. I actually sat in my car when I got home until I made it through the entire album.
Nice to have an entirely instrumental album from Paul. I have always been impressed by his fret board prowess and it is fun to see him...
just picked this up off itunes a few days ago. each time i buy something i say i will never buy a Vai album again but yet i keep going for more. All in all, I have to say the first half is very good, a live album with the Attitude song, etc etc. with the violins, etc. the last half of the...
Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you, for the first time, The Power Jem. All rise for the honorable Power Jem!
Ahhh, catch title huh?
So I was thinking. I'd really like one of the old 540Ps, but so very few are on the bay. And the ones that are end up going...
I just came back from a competition, involving 4 states, and we beat em all, we got number 1, best drummer, best bassist and best guitarist! Yeah! I beat those malmsteen's clone, there are a ton here 8O
Who's tone are you most trying to emulate?
I'd say I'm going for a cross between Andy Timmons and Brad Gillis. I've already found that the Vai tone doesn't work well with my style of playing. Petrucci's tone is just too elusive. Besides, I'm not sure it would work well for me. But I hear...
I want one to build up a Jack Butler copy. Must be 22 frets, have dot markers, and preferably not be scarf jointed. Does not need to include the locking nut or tuners, but will buy if they are shiny chrome (not satin chrome, or other colored). Headstock face must be black (can have J/C logo)...
Not sure if this is the right place to start this thread....
How sought after is the Jem VBK, they look amazing to me.
Is this one of the 'cheaper' Jems and any idea how much a great condition VBK is worth without the case?
I have a really nice specimen which I'm thinking about...
These things were in every guitar catalog on the late 80s, now I can't find them anywhere. I want one that looks like the one Jack Butler uses (will be making a Jack Butler Signature axe). Will post a pic if needed. Any links are appreciated. Thanks.
so it's a day early. HAPPY BDAY STEVE!
going back to what i said earlier, being that it is 6/6/06....being that steve was born 6/6/60 and his bday falls on this triple digit twice in a lifetime..........weird coincidence.
"Jack Butler's gonna like you......."
Hey. Well, I searched the forum pretty extensively before posting this (because I see how people here hate to talk about the same things more than once :))and I didn't see it anywhere else, so here goes:
I just picked up Crossroads on DVD today and was watching the duel and noticed that Steve's...
... but I can't seem to find any way to post them. I don't see any way to post attachments or pics. If someone can help, I would love to share some pics of the beat up, "Yankee Rose" era Green Meanie replica I have. I think you guys will like it.
anyone know how steve got that tone for the crossroads movie? i've wondered that for years. that, to this day, is the best tone i have heard. that wailing tight, thick, crunch tone he has there is just amazing.
I was getting mad while I was working on this, more precisely on its beginning. Can any of you play the whole song at the actual speed? And are those sweeps in the beginning? and if anyboy recorded their own versioni would you be so kind to post it?
