I am hell bent on getting me an Ibanez with a neck that has a profile true to the wizard/super wizard dimensions. In one of the other threads i have been informed that J-customs no longer really come with the dimensions that Ibanez advertises on their website. The neck should be 17mm at the...

There are no right or wrong answers here! What do you think defines your sound? Given that maybe most professional guitarists are heard through their recorded output, is your recorded sound your real sound and your live sound just an approximation, or the other way round? In my case, anything I...

Does Allan Holdsworth do any sort of alternate picking runs? I have seen/heard about his amazing legato but have never heard about him doing any alternate picking. Any other players that mainly use a legato approach?

Does Alan Holdsworth do any alternate picking? I hear so much about his legato technique and was wondering if he does this exclusively?

After learning some of Satch's stuff, I've started working on my legato technique way more than I used to. I really dig the smooth sound of it and would like to find more players that are really good at legato, so could you guys help me out? Who out there is just sick at legato, and what...

Bought on TGP from a really outstanding member. This guitar is pristine...it was pristine when I got it and pristine now. It's been played very little and it shows. When I received it, I had it setup by my tech to my liking and it has 9's and super low, fast action. It's the perfect setup if you...

people say hes a shred head... but the only "shred" ive heard him play is probably legato, and the occasional arpeggio (mystical potato head groove thing). is there any songs/videos in which he alternate picks? (or as most teenage guitar playing wannabes would say, Shreds?) thanks

Holy crap, i just saw this on the Petrucci boards: Tremologic Each string has its own trem, so you could bend different strings different ways, keep other strings in tune when bending... all kinds of stuff! i don't know that it's ibanez specific, but i wasn't sure where to post this (gear?).

I love Joe Satriani because when he solos in songs, it's not like he's just OFF in his own little WORLD.. It still sounds like music, and it coordinates sooo well with every other instrument... He's a genius!!! :) ~ Katrina

I posted this on DreamTheater.net, too, in the guitar forum, but I'm curious as to what you guys think: Last month, I bought an Ibanez RG3120 from a friend of mine (even made a thread about it). When I bought the guitar, I had a local luthier set it up; neck adjustment, intonation, etc., etc. I...

Well i caught the Yngwie bug, i used to hate listening to his songs but i bought a compilation cd of his songs and i haven't stopped listening to it. Is there a good website that shows some of his techniques and how he uses them within his playing?
