Yeah kind of a weird question, and I wasn't even really sure where to post this.
I discovered that running my late 80's MIJ strat with upgraded fender noiseless single coils into my modded DS1, INTO my Marshall Guv'nor pedal, into my VOX Valvetronix on a *slightly* distorted amp...
Somebody scoop it up, before I change my mind.
It started out as an 80s MIJ Squier Strat, in red, but I wanted black, so I swapped out the body, Installed the trem, and routed the nut shelf, installed new tuners and strap knobs, then added the WD, single-ply, black pickguard, and finally...
So now that I've got my dream amp, the time has come for me to add all those finishing touches to my rig, in the form of some shiny new effects. You guys know that I never do anything by halves, and I'm not afraid to pay for what sounds good.
Firstly, awesome as the Hellcat's own drive is, I...
I hear a lot of talk about which distortion/ overdrive pedals work best with what combinations, and although I've tried to relate those threads to my own setup, I fear I can't really make an informed decision so I figure I'd ask you guys to help me out since a lot of you have played...
After re-doing my pedalboard yet again, these are left so they need to find good homes.
1) Vintage Marshall Guv'nor, the real deal, shows some wear and tear from the years, paint scrapes, etc... but works fine. The battery hatch screw has been replaced and the battery snap has also been...
Anyone selling either a Marshall Guv'nor 2 GV-2 or a Marshall Jackhammer JH1? Mainly looking for the GV2, I'd maybe settle for a JH1 for the right price.
The only possible trade would be for a mint M-Audio 2496 sound card + alittle $ to even it out for me.
I have a Marshall Studio 15, Marshall Major, Marshall JCM 900 SL-X 2100, and a Vox AC30.
I find I like the sound of my Les Paul and strat with the Vox and Major where I like the Jem best with the SL-X. They're all very different with the Studio 15 (the Jem is a bit higher gain and with the LP...
Lots of people are really into pedals, and the different ways to hook them up. So post a photo of your current pedal board and maybe a brief description of the setup and the sounds.
I'm still trying to put one together but I'll come back and post a pic of what I have so far later today.
I think would be great to see pics of the people here. And if you're playing your Jem much better!
This way we know who is at the other side talking to us.
I'll start myself with a picture taken this weekend during a gig. I am playing as you may see my lovely Jem7vwh
Not sure if this has been covered before - apologize if so.....
What is everyone's signal-chain look like? The order in which your pedals go makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE in your sound and most players don't really spend alot of time on this stuff.
Some pedals "create" sound and some "mold" sound...
I've gotten quite a few perspectives on which pedal is the best for a boost on a tube amp. The Legacy to be specific. My question now is, which pedal would you put in front of it for a really good boost. There is of course, the DS-1 (BTW, I noticed on the Astoria DVD...does Steve use the DS-1...

How much money has everyone here spent (in their own currency) on guitars and gear that you own right now. You cant count gear that you bought then sold though. After my guitar from Rich arrives, ill have spent about $2100 on gear and guitars. Being a student with a crummy part time job, i think...
Has anyone here really nailed the Satch and Vai tones with their
Boss DS-1 pedals?
From what I read in the forums, we are all mad gear heads and I see
G.A.S running rampant here. I'm trying to not let myself get carried away
with that again (especially after having $5500 worth of Mesa Boogie...
Peavey 5150 MKII
Ive tested all these Amps and i really dont know wich one i should take.
The Peavey is a little bit too expensive, but the sound is great. I thought about buy a JCM800 or JCM900 @ebay.
My Style is Black/Death Metal: Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Ulver etc...
I was thinking, alot of people have alot of different views on this, some prefer the metal zone while others say it is feeble and weak. Others say the Ds-1 is the best for overall distortion. There are alot of Distortion pedals out there but I dont think anyone or a group of people have defined...
I thought we'd do a less controversial topic this time around...
I'd like to hear about your favorite rig setup
What guitar you use, amps, effects..in what order do you like up your effects/pedals...
I think we can learn from each other on this one!!!
