I might get a tube amp soon and am trying to narrow down my choices. I'm considering the Carvin Legacy and V3, the Peavey 6505, the Peavey JSX, and the Peavey Triple XXX. I don't want an amp that's too "nasaly sounding" or has too much gain (i don't play metal), which is why I the peaveys are...

Yep, I hear Marshall will be launching a new line of "Vintage/Modern" amps. I also have been told Oct 26th is the launch date, although that is not confirmed. I'm a huge Marshall fan and look forward to checking it out! -jemaholic

Not looking for a metal sound, looking for a low-to-mid output pickup for hard rock (Foo Fighters, etc). Will the PAF Pro fit that bill, or something else?

*Rant mode ON* I REALLY can't stand how 7 strings are taken today as purely an instrument of nu-metal or heavy stuff. Granted, the low-B does make it sound heavier, but that's not the ONLY application of the low-B string. I recently wrote a song which called for the tonality of a low-D, and...
