Sammy Hagar mentions in his book that on the Roth era albums, Eddie would sometimes play the bass parts himself. Mike Anthony confirmed that as well. Anyone know what songs? My guess for one is Everybody wants some. Totally sloppy Ed bass playing.

Has anyone heard the news? Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, and the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers are in the studio. Sammy originally said it was just some guys getting together to jam. Now he's talking like it's Led Zepp. Rick

I have a student whose parents bought a pair of VIP tickets for the Van Halen show in Tampa, FL last week, tickets were $450 EACH 8O They had front seats at the catwalk and 6 rows from stage. They had a meet and greet party before the show where they DIDN'T meet or greet the band :rolleyes...

Anyone hear of this? Saw on an article today, re RHCP (Chad) Smith is hardly looking for things to do, however; as he says, "I can't really sit still too long." He's involved with Chickenfoot, an all-star group fronted by Sammy Hagar along with former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and...

So I saw the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time last night (Van Halen), and it was everything I had hoped for, and then some. The experience was just incredible. Being able to see both Ed and Dave, two of my biggest heroes, on stage, and performing at their best was awesome. I've been to a...

Hey gang, wondering if any one has heard that EVH and Fender are working on a new version of the Wolfgang...? The reason I am asking is I was looking up wolfgangs on #bay and one of the descriptions talked about EVH doing a new version. Since then I can't find that auction to re-read it to make...

There's a real problem when you take your bass player's vocals and put them on tape so use can use them live on tour. They also photoshoped him out of the old pictures, and took him of the album credits!

Howdy, Would you like it if Joe Satriani formed a band with a lead singer? And then made an album with that band? Like Steve Vai did for Sex & religion? Personally, I think I would like that very much. :) I would be very interesting. Kind regards, Myst

Heard a bit of EVH's music recently, due to all the threads about him (there must be 3 or 4 active threads about EVH in various different boards...so here's another one) and I was considering picking up one of his CDs to see what everyone raves about. I've found a CD called 'Best of Both...

EDDIE VAN HALEN SPEAKS TO HOWARD STERN: A busy weekend as far as rock n roll news. The biggest news I guess is a rare radio appearance by Eddie Van Halen, phoning into the Howard Stern show to update listeners on everything Eddie. I haven't heard the interview myself, but if I get audio of it...

I just thought of a game that might be quite fun... Basically a photo will be put on the thread and everyone has a go at putting an amusing caption to it. The first person to get 5 votes gets to put the next photo up. It doesn't matter how many people have had a go, it's just the person who...

You know learning music is a pain everyone has a different tuning, anyways I just find it weird that Mr. Mustaine tunes to a 1/4 flat versus say a 1/2 step down E-flat. Anyone know the reasoning behind this? and what would it actually be called? Im so curious as to why he tuned like this.

This was last night at Elton John's Academy Awards AIDS benefit dinner. Scary. Kids...don't drink, don't smoke and don't do drugs. Otherwise, you'll end up a shell of a man who is nothing but a punchline. :) Wow...wasn't he the star of "Bum Fights, Volume 3"?
