Hey all --
First post. I've enjoyed reading others.
I'd would be deeply, deeply grateful if someone could help me out.
I'm trying to find a snappy, clear-toned, single coil (hopefully ceramic) pickup-ed, tremolo-ed, low A seven string for electric blues, soul, surf, singer-songwriter and, to...

How goes it? I've got an RG-7 that's turned into a project guitar. I'm workin' on turning it into the perfect guitar for me. It's more than likely not going to look much like an Ibanez when I'm done. I'm stumped with the neck pickup though. At the moment, it's got a TZ7 in the...
Let's start a fun little topic. If you could have your own Ibanez sig. guitar, what would it be like? Wood? Body style? Finish? Pups? Neck?
-Artist style body (original thickness)
-Mahogany body w/ Flamed Maple Top
-Mahogany neck (Wizard)
I am looking for the black plastic part that holds the five-way switch in s series ibanez guitars. Mine is broken. I think i tightened it too much.
I've put it together with some superglue for now.
Here is a pic:
It is the black plastic piece between the volume and tone
If you could customize your own JS, what would you put on it?
JS Body: Basswood
Neck: Maple JS
Frets: 24 Dunlop 6105 Frets
Inlay: Abalone DNA inlay (Like the Vai2K)
Finish: Irridescent (Black/Green/Purple)
Harware: Orginal Edge trem, Gotoh Tuners, barrel knobs, all...
After I got a Dimarzio for my Kramer (Double Whammy) I found that I am not playing my Ibanez nearly as much. :( . I have an EMG ZW set along with an S in the middle (85 in the bridge though 8) ) I don't like the pickups response as much as the DM. The harmonics are sterile the tone is...
So I've finally got all of the parts I need to finish my RG550 project. The pickups I got are as follows:
Tone Zone- Bridge
Blue Velvet (NOT reverse polarity)- Middle
Humbucker From Hell- Neck
The problem is in the lack of reverse polarity in the Blue Velvet. I forgot to ask for that option...
I'm going to be doing something like this in my guitars soon:
Basically, 2 HB, 1 SC, the switch and a volume knob. What i'd like to add, though, is a "kill switch" somewhere which will break the guitar circuit completely.. an "on/off" switch...
Hi, I'm looking to buy a jem, I've played a few and really like them.
I am looking for a guitar that can do everything (Impossible I know) but when it comes to guitars this price range, I think to myself, trem or no trem, humbuckers or single coils because it's alot of money to spend on a guitar...
On satch's site....i watched the G3 welcome video with satch, vai, malmsteen.
when they were showing clips of vai doing his "tongue on the string" thing......i could see some mini toggle switches by the tone knob........
what is this, and what does it do? Is that his secret to making a note...
Here are the combinations I'd like:
1) Neck and bridge (north coil) - hum cancelling
2) Neck and middle - hum cancelling
3) Neck, middle and bridge - hum cancelling
4) Middle and bridge (south coil) - hum cancelling
5) Bridge only
Can this be done with a 5-way, 4-pole superswitch? I'd quite...
I'm going to get my DBK rewired so that the hums split. I would prefer the push pull pots but I think the trem arm will end up hitting them. Am I able to split the neck and bridge hums on just the tone pot?
If I get the mini switches, I will put them between the two pots, that seems like a...
I stopped by one of my local music stores last night and played the new Tribute guitars from G&L. These are the lesser-expensive, Korean-made models, but still include much of the same build quality in the USA models. I played both the Legacy (alder) and an S-500 Premium (swamp ash). Either...
