I just got my first Ibanez...Prestige rg3570 (the McDonald's guitar) and "I'm lovin it" No really this guitar is awesome I should have got one years ago. The issue I'm having is with picking. The volume knob is closer than any other guitar I've had and the selector switch, when in the neck pick...

Hi everybody!! I was wondering who you folks would say is the OVERALL BEST sweep picker? Who could it be?? (please try to come up with some players other than Becker, MAB, Yngwie etc. even though they're great:D)

I recorded a lesson based on a riff from Chimaira's Frozen In Time, hope you find it useful.

Hey guys, Sometimes it happens to me that after a while playing (like 1 hour straight) I get a weird feeling on my wrist on the alignment of the thumb.. it's almost as if someone for 1 tiny fraction of a second pinched some tendon.. not a big deal or pain but nevertheless I can feel something...

Hey Guys i anchor my palm on the bridge, and know this is considered bad practice. but i can play alternate picking licks from top string to bottom string and back at around 210 bpm... when i play with a floating hand im useless have i wasted hour upon hour practicing the wrong technique...

Has anyone tried this pickup for the bridge of this guitar? I have heard that the stock bridge pickup is based on the Duncan Distortion model. How much of a difference would it make if I put in a JB. I have one available that I've had for years but never used. I play in a cover band and play...

I'm looking for something showing a lot of scale patterns, picking techniques, tapped arpeggios, sweep picking, higher end shred techniques. More advanced stuff to work with. I was thinking maybe Speed Kills 2-3. MAB bores the absolute **** out of me, but if it helps it helps right? Any suggestions?

Out of all of the lessons I've ever taken a look at before, there was always just something missing... As a guitarist, or if you play any other instrument whatsoever -- as a musician, what would you like to see more lessons on? Any topics whatsoever. Personally, I think guitar lessons in...

Well, firstly I hope this is posted in the right forum. Every year end of March beggining of April we start windsurfing in my area and I have noticed that my playing gets worse each summer (normaly we go windsurfing 4-6 times a week for a couple of hours). Even when warmed up, my hands don't...

Hi guys, Has anyone had any problems with their picking hand/arm as far as positioning is concerned while alternate picking ? I typically have my hand rested on the bridge (same position as for palm muting, but i move my hand forward slightly if want to have muted sounds vs clean sounds), and...

Hi, I'm considering to learn Japanese, but I was just wondering if it's really hard? In the sense that you can't carry on a conversation in Japanese after like, years of learning? I've also been learing French, but I kind of got stuck after a while. This is also because I just didn't have the...

That video is hilarious  My friend sent it to me because Batio is coming to my local guitar shop on the 28th and my friend is bringing me along. I hope I don't start laughing while Batio tries to be serious  does anyone here like him? I haven't really listened to his stuff because his...

I know this might seem like a stupid question, but I think it's a subject that generally goes overlooked. Do you pick straight on, or do you tilt the pick? I find myself tilting the pick a lot for fast runs, but I tilt it so that the edge that faces the neck tilts towards me. Every time I watch...

Hello All, Are either of these guitars suitable for a beginner? One of the reasons I am looking at either is that that have quite thin necks. I already have a Gibson Studio, but the neck is too thick and the guitar is way too heavy

I have recently been getting into Shred type stuff and my favorite tone is similar to Paul Gilberts. I currently have a Marshall JCM800 2204 50watt 1982 and an Avatar closed back cab w/ 2 vintage 30's. I use a Carl Martin Plexitone pedal. While I cannot currently afford a new amp, Is...
