PLease help guys. I just bought this one, seller tolds me this is a RG470 MIJ but i can't find any info that supports this info since wiki says that all RG470 MIJ are basswood and not mahogany as this one is....
Do you have any idea of what model is this one?
Thanks a lot.
Hello all, this is my first post to this site.
I've recently bought a '94 MIK RG470 and unfortunately it didn't come with a trem bar.
The bridge from what I've Googled is a Lo-TRS II? I can't see anything on it that identifies it as such so I'm not 100% on that.
Anyway, it looks like it takes...
Hi, I recently acquired an Ibanez RG470 that was made in Japan. All hardware seems original and it is in decent shape, save for a few nicks and dents on the body. What I'm struggling with is to identify the colour, as it seems not to be listed as a standard colour for the RG470's of the time.
I've had a '02 Japanese RG470 since new and I've been looking at the pages on the Ibanez wikia but the colour of my guitar doesn't match any colours listed on there. I've been doing some googling and it looks like my guitar is "Cosmic Blue" but this was only on 570s in '02?
I have just installed a set of 1st gen Evolutions (HSH) in my RG470. For the first time ever, I cooked the volume pot. I am going to replace it with a push/pull pot. So, I was wondering if anybody has used the EVOs and could recommend which mod to do.
I could use it to 1. make the neck or the...
Mint 1993 Ibanez RG 770 in a color that I think is a bit rare. I'm not entirely sure this is an RG 770, in 93 they are supposed to have sharktooth inlays, but it could have been made in late 92 and got the 93 serial number. If anyone knows for sure what model please reply to this post so...
Here is a beautiful 1999 Ibanez RG470 that has major upgrades. Made in Japan.
Trans Black finish with bound flame maple top, Wizard II neck with 24 frets.
Fernandes Sustainer FSK-101 Humbucker in the neck
DiMarzio pickups - Fred DP153 in the bridge, YJM DP217 in the middle
I just got a new addition to the collection. It is an almost mint RG. But I am not sure if its a 470 or a 570. It has the original edge, but the serial number says its from 1996. It has the "made in Japan" stamp at the back of the headstock and the AANJ.
Pickups are V7, V8 and S1 in...
Hi there, I recently acquired this guitar on the cheap side and the previous owner claims it is a 1993 Japanese made RG570
some other people have told me it might be an RG370 or even an RG470
here is what I know:
-Serial # is F309462 (confirms that was made in 1993 at the Fujigen plant)...
Does this look legit? It's a MIK model but the neck is bound with shark tooth inlays. Seems like a great deal, but maybe the neck isn't stock.
What should I be wary of on RG's from Korea?

Hey all! New to the boards here and pumped to be here! I'm about to dive head first into my first Ibanez. I've been playing a Strat for many years but am ready to step up my technique to a more facemelting level.
I was about to pull the trigger on a great deal for a japanese RG570 when I...
Long time since I last posted.
I have an old 1993 RG470 with an edge tremolo that plays really nice but I'm not very keen on the guitar color.
I've always liked natural finishes and I was thinking it might look really cool on this one.
Does anyone have any photos of basswood...
New member but I have a half dozen Ibanez guitars... hope that's cool :-)
I just picked up a Craigslist score, a 1992 RG470 for almost nothing. It needed a good cleaning and I threw a Crunch Lab into the bridge PU and it sounds incredible... except for the V7 neck PU!
It is very...
I recorded a video over a year ago showcasing the sound of the D Activator X I installed in my RG470FM MIJ so I figured, if any of you are wondering how that combo sounds, this video may be of help.
Here's the link:
Hope you enjoy it :D

Here's my New Guitar Day RG story...
I bought what was described as a 1999 RG570 made in Japan.
I was told I am the 3rd owner of this guitar and the seller does not know a lot about its history.
I can't positively ID this guitar.
So here's the problem...
The serial number on the neck and the...

Great guitar all in all, but the finish was absolutely...
Recently picked up an MIJ RG270 for 200 bucks off of a local cat for 200, The guiat came with two EMG humbuckers and was kepit in fairly good shape. BUT it does need some work. The orginal LO-TRS I has fairly worn knife edges and posts (Will be replacing with a GOTOH unit soon), The orginal S1...
