Hi, i have a 90's Japanese RG550 with the Quantum humbuckers(out of some S series from the same era, they are ceramic) instead of the V7/V8 that came originally.
My electronics have very bad connections and are scratchy when using the volume/tone knobs, and switching pickup positions.
I want to...
I have a RG570 that I am upgrading and wanting to make into a JEM style guitar (sort of).
In terms of the pickups I want to somewhat mirror Steve Vai's EVO, except I want some additional options. I also want to use the Evo2, over the original Evo.
I want to have..
Neck - Evo2 reversed (non F...
I have a 2005 Artcore AS83 which has the ACH-1 and ACH-2 pickups in it. I admit that I thought they sounded a bit harsh at first, but then I realized how good they sound (IMO) for playing classic rock... so I have decided I like them. I still keep toying with the idea of doing a coil...
Hey guys, I'm trying to get an answer for this. I have an RG1570L that I'm swapping pickups in. I have a '59 4-con for the neck, an SSL-1L RWRP for the middle, and a distortion TB-6 bridge. I'm told that to get hum-canceling In positions 2 and 4 that I can either do the outside coils with this...
I'm pretty to all this stuff and was wondering which configurations my completely stock RG870z H/S/H is using in position 2 and 4.
I suspect it's splitting the humbucker and putting it in series with the single but I'm unsure.
I don't have enough tonal experience to determine if...
I installed PAF, Fred, 3-way inline toggle, one volume, two mini-toggles (to coil tap each pickup).
See my illustration attached.
It sounds great when I use either full humbucker alone.
It sounds great when I use either full humbucker and with the other humbucker tapped to single.
Hi I need help with wiring my HSS strat. It has a standard (fender) 5-way switch and my question is can it be wired like this:
position 1: just the humbucker - series
position 2: just the humbucker - parallel or just one coil of the humbucker
position 3: just the middle pickup
Okay. I have a 2000 rg 570 and the volume and tone pots are worn out. The volume knob gets in the way of picking, also. So I'm thinking about wiring it with a single volume knob, and have a mini switch splitting the neck only, to keep it simple.
Anyone who knows more about this topic...
That question has been revolving into my head and I actually can't get a clear answer about.
Of we said, I have :
Bridge D-A X with coils 1 & 2
Middle Chopper with coils 3 & 4
Neck D-A X with coils 5 & 6
Which would have better cleans having 1 & 2 in parallel or coil...
