Hey y'all!! Seems ive become addicted to the sonic brutality of Strapping Young Lad......the shear intensity of the production leaves every other band ive ever heard in its wake.......everything else has a dimension that's missing. Yeah ive got all the Devin Townsend solo stuff and that ties...

Hello all.. I just got my new bc rich couple days ago. It's really a great guitar and it almost plays by itself. Anyway, here's the pics for whom might be interested! Thanks for watching and comments are always welcome!

I just picked up the long awaited album from what could be perhaps the best cartoon since Family Guy. I would like to just start by saying this is perhaps one of the most brutal metal albums I have ever heard, seriously, and I have a decent collection of SYL, Dying Fetus, Death and C. Corpse...

Well, since I posted this mock-up to overwhelming applause over at the www.sevenstring.org forum, I thought I'd post it over here on the Jemsite in the suggestion section to see what everyone thinks. It's basically an evolution of an earlier idealized seven-string design employing my signature...

Who are some of your favorite metal bands? Any subgenre is fine, be it black, death, grindcore, doom, etc. List them all and give a reason why. I'll start with mine: Necrophagist-My absolute favortie. Muhammed is an amazing player and their bassist is incredible! Gojira-Good hard metal from...

Ok, because of something I did for work, I got a $30 amazon gift cert. I have already decided on Petrucci's Suspended Animation. What other disc would you recommend? I was looking at Racer X Getting Heavier because their last two are in constant rotation in the player. Suggestions??

I'm afraid that my CD library has gotten a little stale and am admittedly out of touch with who is hot these days. I enjoy heavy, bone crunching metal but not low growling vocal styles of death metal, high operatic King Diamond, or million notes per second stuff. In the past I've enjoyed groups...

Which string gauges do you guys use on your 7s if not the standard 9-54, and how many of you needed to have truss-rod adjustment as a result of changing gauges?

I bought this album two days ago and I've been listening to it for two days non-stop. Unbelievable album. Stunning, beautiful, diverse. SSV is also featured on it in one track (you'll immediately know it's him). My personal favorite track is Pixillate, because of that Eastern sounding riff in it.

Just wondered if anyone else might be going to this? I know its a bit of a long shot, as not everyone on these boards is into this type of music. But I know a few people are, and just wondered if anyone is going to it? It should be a cracking gig all-round. I have seen them once before (last...

I've been listening to mainly 80's/early 90's rock/hr/metal. I'd like to know what is good to listen to now? Can be rock/hr/metal/country/instrumental or anything. I don't really like cookie monster vocals, but I really like Children of Bodem. Old stuff that I listen to included priest...

I never thought SYL would top "City." When I heard SYL III I thought I was right. Then along came "Alien." Holy crap this is a great album. Anyone who's into extreme metal should check this out and prepare to have their ass blown off. Devin Townsend is a freaking genius.
