Well, it was a great show last night at Birmingham. Paul Gilbert was excellent and played a 45 min set including most of the songs off SFBADR and finished up with Down To Mexico. It would've been great to see him play GOOMY but nevermind. Joe played for over 2 hours a stranged mix of new and...

Guys, One of the things I enjoy most about the festive season is the excuse to dust off my copies of "Merry Axemas" volumes 1 and 2. (my wife's favourite is "The First Noel" by Eric Johnson whereas I prefer "Sleigh Ride" by Stu Hamm). I doubt there'll be a volume 3 anytime soon so I thought...

Just got back and my ears are ringing! Satriani played the Surfing With An Alien album start to finish and was joined by Marty Freidman, Paul Gilbert, Herman Li and the other guitarist from Dragonforce for a jam at the end. All in a small club with about 400 people in it. It was great seeing...

I wanted to make a post about recording bass guitars, because I believe there are some of us out there that do both guitar and bass. Perhaps we're not in a band and just doing things in the home studio, such as myself. One thing you might consider with bring out a good rhythm is to do two bass...

What do people thinks of Joe's new DVD? Personally I prefer the set list on the San Francisco DVD, but the new DVD is good too and the special features are cool.

I have listened to quite a few Vai albums and watched the live DVD's but has he really prodgressed his playing since the 1980's. I have just seen a clip from a Zappa gig in 1982 pulling off the same licks and moves he does now!

Toss up between Stu Hamm ans Billy Sheehan. Stu Hamms studio work on PAW is immaculate but Sheehans live performances are the best.

Just found out that the new Joe Satriani album "Super Colossal" is hitting the stores March 14. I'm looking forward to it :), but the cover reminds me a bit to much of the "Is There Love In Space?" album which was a nice album but not exactly the best. Regards André
