Damn, after I found the great sound and closed up the guitar I might have to open her up again and change out the cap and install it in place correctly.
I used polystyrene cap, and I believe it has polarity, which I did not take into consideration. I did switch the leads and heard no difference...
My 2004 Jem7VW is a little shrill at low volume...let me explain.
I removed the tone pot.
I kept the volume and original 330pF cap.
Sounds killer until I roll off the volume, as then it gets harsh.
What do you suggest.
A 100K resistor in series or change the cap to 220pF etc.
