trem guitar

Hi, I've recently bought a 1994 MIK RG470 that has the infamous LO TRS II trem on it. I've read virtually nothing but bad things about the LO TRS II so I was wondering what kind of tuning stability to expect from it? Being totally new to locking trem guitars I have no idea how a poor...

Just thought I'd share some pics of the Jem I am putting together. I had the body built and sprayed by Martin Sims over here in England. I would highly recommend him, his work is excellent & he had great communication throughout the build. The neck is from a 555, but I am going to get the...

will it work? or will it need routing for the EDGE?

Oh hell yeah! http://www.charvelguitars.com/ The comments are from my resident Charvel freak Mike. "I'm waiting to find out more info but the basics from what I've heard/read are that they are being built on the same line as the USA made fender strats just using the Charvel CNC program to get...

And how is your action? I want to switch to 10s from stock 9s but I hope the action doesn't drastically increase - so I want to know what other JEM users do.

Hey guys. I have been searching for a guitar with fixed bridge... I hate Fenders and Gibsons, I know 89% of the world will think I'm either noob or just stupid, but that is just the way it is for me. I was thinking a LOT about getting PRS custom 22 with stoptail. But then I saw JS 1600 and...

Ok, I think a string is a string is a string. Most of them are really good for a short period of time before degrading (at least with my acidic hands). So, my tactic is go cheap since I'm going to replace them soon anyway. I've tried some long life (Elixer) strings with some success, but I'm...

Does any1 know what gauge of strings that the jems are originally shipped with? I feel very comfortable with the stock strings and i want to keep on using the same gauge.

Just got an used RG550. I can not access the 24th fret on the neck comfortably. I must take my thumb off the back of the neck to access to it and even then I cannot make any vibration!! It's a pain in the ass, compared to my RG1570 which is AANJ. How about you guys? I think my hand is small!

Hi, I was looking at Rich' gallery section and I saw this, imo, awesome gold J-custom with birds! :o Be sure to check it out, if you haven't already. http://www.ibanezrules.com/images/gallery/rggold2.jpg Does anybody know anything more about this guitar? Was it some kind of anniversary model...

Today I decided I simply must have some locking tuners on my RG321, I restrung my guitar today and the G and B string keep slipping out of tune and I'm losing my temper. Do they require any drilling out to fit them to an RG321? And I assume getting plain chrome ones won't be too hard? :)

I have decided to sell this wonderful guitar. It's been a hard decision but I just have so many trem equipped guitars, and two 24 fret trem guitars. I'm wanting to diversify my guitar arsenal so this baby is up for sale to fund that GAS, lol. This guitar is in pretty much the same condition...

I've got a year old 7VWH and there are so many little details that need to be worked out... one of my concerns is the neck pickup is dead... zero harmonics and almost no bite which is totally the opposite of their description, the pinched and tapped harmonics also aren't very strong could this...

I'm thinking about buying a guitar from him, mostly because I'm interested in the work he could do setting it up and getting it playing perfectly (with frets leveled and guitar shimmmed and all parts cleaned up and in perfect condition and so on).... I just wanted to see how many of you have...

I'm considering the rg2550Z in Galaxy white or the RG1570 CA red. The pickups aren't a determining factor since they'll be swapped-out. Finances only allow for one at the moment. * RG2550zgw - I'm not a fan of the inlays on the 2550 but I don't dislike them. I'd swap-out the pick guard and go...

I've been following the directions on the JEMsite tech section to get rid of my buzz on my 560 with a Lo Pro Edge. I can't get rid of the buzz on the wound strings from frets 1-7 or so. But even with relaxing the truss rod it doesn't go away. Now the buzz doesn't come through the amp at all...

I just saw the video posted on the Paul Gilbert Reverse Icemans thread where PG praises his custom Reverse Icemans and a newly designed PGM301 for having thicker necks (Reverse Icemans) and a thick, old-school block neck joint (PGM301). Why? Because these thicker parts supposedly give thicker...
