Hoping to get some assistance if possible.
Recently picked up a J Craft JEM7V in decent condition, body has some wear and guitar needs a good clean up.
Having owned another 7V in the past, I noticed that the guitar wasn't sounding as it should as I went through the pickup...
I have a 2005 and a 2007 Jem. Both are 7vwh. (Yes its repetitive and foolish, and also financially crippling, please no judging.) But the problem is they sound entirely different. the 2005 sounds great, I bought it new and know it is 100% factory wiring. The 2007 is used and abused, probably...
Dear Jemsite members,
I have got guitar, pickups and VLX91 switch as per PDF:
A friend soldered it for me. He was unable to get 2nd and 4th positions as in the diagram.
2nd position has single coil and full bridge humbucker.
I was looking for a wiring diagram for an RG565 (with the VLX-91 switch) and spent quite a bit of time searching online and came up empty. I spent some time making one and figured i'd share it in case anyone else needs it.
So I'm trying to wire my guitar up with a VLX91. It's a two humbucker (both Dimarzios) guitar with one volume and a tone control.
Question is, how do I go about it?
I've tried using the RGT2020 and RGT3020 diagrams, with no luck. So I have a few questions:
I'm wondering if the diagram here...
I have an HSH sabre and would like to add one sound to the regular configuration (see diagram below) with a push-pull pot.
I was told a short shaft will fit the volume position. Basically, (with the pot up) I want both humbuckers split (the outer coils) in parallel.
PS: Also, could...
I've searched this site for info on the vlx91 switch and there is a wealth of info on it but, nothing covers my situation...maybe I'm just slow and can't quite get it.
Anyway hello to all and I'll post in the appropriate forum with my dilema.
Best to all
I came across the first picture while searching for a H/H set-up with a super-switch / vlx91.
After trialling both options for the middle position and deciding I like both and thought how can I do the wiring. Found a changeover toggle switch, and finally the second picture is the result of...
I came across a few with a similar problem, but read no definite solution.
I have a S series guitar and the hyper complicated wiring is basically done.
The only problem remains that the switch is too short, making the lever hardly stick out of the cavity (I can't even put the tip on or else...
Trying to wire an RG565 with two (stock?) four-wire pickups and a VLX91 switch. The closest setup to what I want looks like the schematic for the RGT3020 on the Ibanez site.
However, wired exactly like that, the first switch position (bridge) sounds way too weak and the fifth (neck) position is...
I'm trying to rewire an RG565 and I've been getting nowhere so far; the original OTAX VLX91 switch was broken and I've got another, but I can't make heads or tails of how to wire it and the schematics I've found don't really match what I've got to work with. Guitar has stock pickups and pots I...
I was looking at the wiring diagram for the JEMs using the vlx91 switch and compared it to the wiring diagram for an RG570 using the standard 5-pos switch. They seem to achieve exactly the same thing: anyone know why Ibanez don't use the same switch? Or am I missing something?
