I have a 1976 fender stratocaster in what I think is either Mexican Red or Wine red that I am thinking about trading in. I'd do a straight trade for an Ibanez DNA, or for an Ibanez Jem77 LNG (the LNG is top of my bucketlist of guitars to own with a 1976 strat coming in at 3rd place so I'm not concerned about the difference in value between the two). I'd consider other trades too, but by comparison I'd be looking for a couple of decent guitars to trade for this one (eg. a JEM7FP AND a universe in trade for my Strat). This strat will only go up in value - it's already worth a good £1700+ so I'm happy to keep it as an investment. Serious queries only please. You can find picture here from the guy I bought it from http://www.flickr.com/photos/midiahn/sets/72157627370562956/
I've dated the pots to the 3rd week of September 1976 - meaning the guitar cannot have been made before then. I'd guess late 76, probably October/November?
Why trade? Well to be honest, even after buying it, I still play my jems more than anything else - I am basically a JEM guy and this strat has kinda driven that point home. I don't want to sell - so please don't make financial offers unless they are attached to a top end ibanez Jem or Universe.
