Hello everyone, I'm new here and new to playing guitar. I have a Casino brand (Chinese generic I think?) Strat that I have been testing the waters with for 6 months or so, and am now ready to buy a better guitar to continue learning on. This brings me to my question, I have been looking at the RG370AHMZ, and the RG350DX both of which brand new goes for around $900 dollars here in Australia. I have an opportunity to buy a pristine condition (hardly been played) 2007 MIJ (Team J Craft), RG2570e Prestige in the Gold colour, for around the same price. From researching I gather that the 2570e is a fantastic guitar. What I want to know is, is it worth buying the 2570e (11 years old although great condition), for the same money I can buy a new (medium quality), 370 or 350? Thanks in advance.

Absolutely, buy the 2570 and pay for a pro setup, you won't regret it.
Thanks you for the input. I was leaning that way, but unsure because of the age. I thought perhaps technology had made the new medium quality units as good as the older one. Glad that is not the case, as I really like the 2570. I was planning on getting a set up done whichever way I went. I think the 2570 is probably a better unit to spend extra on, so worked out well.

+1: Go for the Prestige (assumed it is technically in good condition).
But be warned: You will not be able to blame the instrument if your playing is not as expected ;)
Hahahaahah thanks mate for the input, (and the vote of confidence lol). No chance of blaming the instrument, I am well aware of my awesome playing skills lol. At least with a good quality unit, if my playing is still awesome in 12 months, I know I'm either doing something wrong or I need to practice more often.

Thanks again for the help guys. I'll post a pic once the deal is done.

G'day Alan. Thanks for the interest mate. No I didn't buy the one I mentioned above as the guy kept stuffing me around. Organising time to meet up so I can check it out, then pulling out at the last minute with what felt like lame excuses. After the third attempt I walked away. But instead of the others I was looking at, my wife convinced me to go better quality and buy a new RG652AHMFX prestige which I am happy to say that I absolutely love. Feels so awesome to play compared with my old Casino. Pics attached.
