Hey guy,

I have 3 new pickups to put in my guitar Both Dimarzio Evolution for the neck and bridge and an Air Norton S for the middle position.

I want to keep the original sound meaning the split coil in position 2 and 4 with the middle fully active and the neck or bridge split, is that possible?

Logically it doesn't make send to me because both Air Norton S coils cancel against each other so the split for either the neck or bridge has nothing to cancel against? I might be wrong that's why I'm asking you guys.

Thank you.

I don't quite understand the "cancel in all positions" part, but DiMarzio has a cool wiring diagram lookup:

https://www.dimarzio.com/support/wiring-diagrams

Check this one out... "RG270, 350 Wiring, Humbucker/Fast Track/Humbucker, 1 Volume, 1 Tone, IBZ 5-Way Switch; Neck, Neck & Middle, Middle, Bridge & Middle, Bridge "

Hmmm I mean of course they will humbuck in positions 1 3 and 5 I wanted to get the split start sound in positions 2 and 4 meaning Air Norton S active and split neck or bridge depending on the position and I wanted the 2ed and 4th positions to humbuck as well without splitting the middle pickup only the bridge or neck.

You need to split both pickups involved in positions 2 and 4 to be hum cancelling, so you have:

Neck both coils
Neck split with middle split
Middle both coils
Middle split with bridge split
Bridge both coils.
Here is the diagram:

Positions 2 and 4 in effect create a humbucker using one coil from each pickup, same principle as using a RWRP middle pickup on a strat.

What switch is that?
