I got an automotive paint shop to do a RG body for me. I masked up the neck cavity and pointed it out to the painter. When I got the call that the body was ready for pick up, I went down to the shop and to my horror, they removed the masking tape and painted the neck cavity. They said, and I quote, "they thought it'd look better". I asked how many guitars they've done before and they said that it was their first one. Plus, it wasn't a very even job.KevJEM7D said:Do you think if I gave my body to a good car sprayer and told him I want the one out of the house of kolor, he'd do a good job?
ThAnks for the advice! I've contacted SimsCustom (www.simscustom.com) and asked for a quote. I really want it done right and since they have dony guitar bodies before (!) I be really confident in trusting them.beyblade said:I got an automotive paint shop to do a RG body for me. I masked up the neck cavity and pointed it out to the painter. Big lesson learnt, unless they've painted up guitars before and proudly show you a photo album full of pictures of their custom guitar paint, don't use them.
P.S. House of Kolor is in the US. You may be better off sourcing the paint yourself.
