Im not looking for distortions/preamps, I will be running a modded ada and a peavey 60/60 into two marshall 1936 cabs. Just a good effects unit. Is there any alternatives to the tc gmajor in that price range that anyone has or is using in comparison?

Hey Tim...
The Voodoo modded ADA is shipping today, picked it up last night but didn't get to the post office before they closed.

I use the G-Major and LOVE it.
I do have a desire to check out the Rocktron XPression which is a tad bit cheaper...
or an Intellifex.
BUT - As far as I can tell, the G-Major is your best choice for the money.

I use a Lexicon MPX-1 that I got off of **** for about $400 w/shipping and I love it. The factory presets sound great, but learning to program the user settings can prove to be difficult. I must admit that I have been eye-balling the Boss GT-8 recently and I played with one down at the local music store; it sounds good too (plus being a floor unit, it has foot controls and it comes with dual amp choices.)

Bottom line: you don't want to pay too much. If Satch came to your house and played the Sh!t you have now, it would sound like a dream (I think). Now stop reading this and play.

Get an eventide, with open platform H8000, Orville DSP7500/7000, you can rebuild your presets to your needs. And it sounds heavenly great compared to all the other **** in the world. The eclipse is great too, but it has closed platform.
And this is professional stuff.

Regards
Tony
