Hey guys,

So I just stumbled upon posts on some forums stating that the Ibanez Edge can be replaced with the Edge pro. In that regard, I was wondering if anyone here has replaced their Edge for the Pro and could chime in on what kind of differences they noted.

If anyone could provide their input it would be appreciated!

The EP has a much larger block, I've dropped them in guitars with no issues and have also had internal rubbing from the block on the side of the rout. It's inside the guitar so trimming it back can't be seen.

It's much lower profile but plays a little stiffer IMO.

Ahh I see, so they’re interchangeable but I may run into issues with the block size?

Any idea how the block would fit in that lovely RGR I got from you?

You could put it in 7 and it would be free in 5 and bind in 2. Model doesn't matter, they all have the same rout. The locator stud is never guaranteed to be in the correct spot and wood frags on the inside never need to be cleaned up inside a guitar with plenty of block clearance you're eliminating by making the block wider.
