Hi,

I wanted to know if these two Dimarzio single coil pickups will work in my 2 Ibanez guitars (PGM30jb and Egen8)?

The single coil Dimarzio pickups are called Injector and Virtual Solo.

They should work.

Be careful of the shape though. That is the standard baseplate, with the wires on the side.

They also make, no charge, an emg style baseplate with the wires on the end.

You have to order the emg style ones direct from them. Its a no cost option. Same price as the online retailers, free shipping, and no tax outside of ny.

I've been playing my JEM for almost 10 years and don't want to give it up. However, I am trying to make it so that my guitar responds and sounds more like a strat and was thinking of installing strat pickups. Is that possible? Are there serious downsides?

You need to find a pick guard for the JEM... That's probably the most difficult part of the whole thing. Otherwise it's no big deal. You could simply follow a strat wiring diagram. There's plenty of diagrams on DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan websites.
