As the 'endorsements' thread had a few car mentions, I thought I'd start a new conversation about them.

I've been a lucky boy, and had some interesting cars through my life. My top three have been:
Renault Clio V6

This car I really regret selling. It was an utter hoot to drive, a real joy. Yes it was slow, the engine didn't rev, but it was just FUN. Yes, those are air intakes in front of the rear wheels. The car (from the factory), had a 3 litre V6 where the rear seats should be. Not my car in the image.

Escort Cosworth

A stupid car. This one in the picture was actually mine. Big turbo, modified and a terrifyingly small power band. So when you were on boost, and changed gear, you fell out off boost... The air filter sounded like Darth Vader having an asthma attack, the wastegate sounded like a robotic turkey and the car nearly killed me (threw a brake calliper at speed).

TVR Sagaris

So this is my keeper car. It's a beast, but the best car I have ever owned. Strictly for the purist and the driver... Definitely keeps the physiotherapist busy if it's been a long trip! 1000kg, 450bhp from a 4 litre straight six. No traction control, no ABS, no airbags, crash protection of a wet fart. Modified - the slats all work and give downforce, a few other bits and pieces. Rare as well - less than 200 made. That makes the Ferrari Enzo twice more common than this.

Then my dream...
The 'egg

I know someone with one. His comment on it was 'sometimes it comes back from service with less issues it went away with'. But I love it. So brutal. So fast. So unusual. The doors are amazing - the action reminds me of a gun slinger twirling his pistols back into his holster. But beware parking beside a high kerb - look how far down and out those doors go....

What about you? What do you have? What do you want?

I've been in one of those as a passenger when it was being driven by a teenage wannabe boy racer, for such a small car the speed was just stupid, although from what I remember the cornering wasn't the best despite it being mid engined.

TVR Sagaris

I see a fair few TVR's round my area, though most of them are the older Tuscans, I very rarely see a Sagaris anywhere. Very beautiful car though, nice car man.

What about you? What do you have?
Passed my driving test 6 years ago and still haven't got a car yet, through a combination of being at uni, living in an area with great public transport, and insurance quotes for any hypothetical car purchase being sky high.

What do you want?
Now I've got a steady job I was looking into one of these as my first car simply because you can get one with full service history, super low mileage and one previous owner for less than £1000, and it's the cheapest car to insure at around £500 a year for me with no no-claims history. Yeah it's super slow and isn't exactly good for picking up birds, but it's almighty cheap.

Also in 6 months time when I turn 25 my dad's company car policy would allow me to drive his Golf GTD (not a photo of the actual car, as that hasn't been delivered yet)

Dream car would be one of these - 911 Turbo Convertible. I was at a track day as a passenger in my friend's RX-8 this year, and some kind bloke with one of these let us sit in the passenger seat while he smashed it round the track. I've flown the controls of a small propeller plane doing aerobatics before, but the G-forces out of the 997 hammered my body far harder than even aerobatics did. So much grip round corners it felt like my face was being ripped apart!

My new girlfriend.

What do I lust after? The V12, but it wasn't in the cards. I'm very happy with mine though ;)

I've just been watching my pennies and not blowing money on guitars [and alot of other stuff] like I usually do. That was a 9 month search to find that car.

[ok, I did add a few guitars this year, but that's inevitable!]

Financial discipline you say? How about that! Just so you know, all I can see are blue boxes with question marks. I needed to open the image in a new tab where the Aston Martin appeared.

Discipline may be a bit too literal in my case, but it was a conscience effort, even if I did fail a few times!

They're loaded on my site, I see them in the browser. Wonder what's up with the blue boxes?

I drive a 2006 Camry I bought new back then, that since I live in a city and park on the street, I plan on driving into the ground. It's damned near indestructable, and pretty much IS invisible to cops. Knock on wood.

If I had a driveway and a bit more expendable income, I'd be looking long and hard at a Tesla, though. Things are ****ing awesome.

She's got a little Kardashian in her but it's in all the right places.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time searching 7 different listing sites multiple times a day for the right car that checked all my boxes. Flew to Florida to buy one over the summer, wasn't a good car. So few of them come on the market, specifically 09'-11' [4.7L but before they added the front splitter] stick, coupe [they're mostly paddle shift roadsters], sport package, low miles, meticulous service history, condition, gentleman driven, and in a light color. I was specifically looking for silver or white but was open to anything light. This 5900 mile car popped up in Boise 8 months into the hunt and finally checked all the boxes, with the bonus of having a cool story.

It was then purchased by this Rich, who I bought it from

And now it's little old MINE's! ;)

We'll see if I can afford to drive it. The day after it came off the truck I found out it needed a clutch. Nothing cheap about this one. It'll definitely cut down on my collecting habits for sure!

that's a nice ride Rich give the NJ state troopers hell LOL
I have to wait 2 weeks till I can get tickets again from the suspension last November, so driving home from Summit when I pick it up from service, I'll be on good behavior. November, all bets are off, I have a 297 exemption I can use to get out of jail ;)
