Now my once mint UV777bk is no longer mint. Dont be sad, a guitar should have some "personality".
Just look at EVO, Steve's main guitar. As long as it plays as good as
before it does not matter. If not you had in plan to sell it one day.
Now, It's got character. That first ding is the hardest thing though. ;)

I would rather that my guitars character be "clean cut" meaning in mint condition. Anyways yeah i'm sorry to hear that. i have gotten alittle damage done to my uv777bk and i hate it, but i guess thats life. I think i would take it to a repair shop and see what the doctor has to say.
A scrape like that won't really matter on a UV777BK. Even if it was dead mint and brand new people would only offer you $800 if you tried to sell it.

The problem with that though is that EVO doesn't play as good as before because of the large crack. Which is why steve with have to retire her one of these days from the road.
Don't worry, it can be fixed. If the wood has been dented you can steam it out with a damp cloth and a soldering iron. Clean the area up and get then head out to your auto body supply shop and get some black touch up paint. You can usually find these as touch up pens or small bottles with a brush. Obviously you'll want black (look for generic black or universal black *no pun intended*). Usually the touch up stuff comes with some clear coat mixed into the paint, but also grab some clear coat just in case.

Mask off the areas you DON'T want to accidentally paint over and apply the black touch up paint. Let it dry and depending on how deep it is, you may have to apply a second coat. Once you get that done, you may have to sand it down to get it even and then finally clear coat and do some finish sanding/buffing.

Mind you, that's probably more work than you'd want to do. If so, just get the black touch up paint, apply it and then just leave it alone. Most of the time as long as your eye doesn't catch it you'll be ok. (also a lot less work).

I'm sorry I just have to ask, but after paying that much for a guitar, why didn't you put strap locks on it?!!!

it was the leather strap it self,,,it actullay was a EVH wolfgang strap,,,peavey is the devils insterment
There's no such thing as the devil, it's a fairy tale. A ding is a ding. If the guitar still plays fine, don't worry about it. Not like you're going to sell the guitar anyhow, right? You got the guitar not to hang it on the wall, but to play it, right? So play it.

Well, the Devil did go down to Georgia apparently.
That sucks dude. That's a pretty sweet RG though, I've wanted one of those since I saw one in a UK guitar magazine when they first came out.

No, Rap is the devils music, country is what is played in the devils elevator.
Your guitar looks fine, just has a bit of character now. And country music is fun to play; if it's good enough for Mark O'Connor....
So let me get this straight: You played an UV777BK on a country gig? :D Cudos to you man! What did people say about it? I've heard stories of people playing folk music gigs with Flying V's, and they were almost shot! :D

That's just what he wants you to think, dude.
teh only way to fix that properly is to fill it using isopon... the plastic paddig stuff they use on cars for crash repairs... sand back and respray just that area... you would want to be sure you knew what you were doing... having a friend who works in a crash repairs place would be a good start..... if it were me I would rub a little tung/danish oil into the exposed wood and live with it...
