I got an Ibanez RG8MS. Amazing guitar, totally blown away.

It has a fairly complicated switching system you can see in the attachment.

I am wondering if I could add a push/pull pot to make a coil split option as well?
It may be a stupid question and sorry if that's the case, I am clueless on wiring.
A pot recommendation would be appreciated also.

Also, the little truss rod adjustment thingy was broken, the little wheel.
Anyone knows where I could buy a replacement one by any chance?

Love!

what positions are you trying to make single coil ? cts pots are nice but they are a larger diameter hole so to use them you'd have to drill/ream the current holes larger. Bourns pots are good too, and I believe they come with the same diameter hole as the Korean/Chinese pots.

I would like to be able to play single coil in both neck and bridge positions. Can that be done with one pot or do I need two?
I didn't know about the diameter differences, thank you for pointing that out.
yes it is possible, you'd need a new 5 way switch. You'd also need to nail down what exact configuration you want the switch to be. Another issue is going to be if your pickups are 4 conductor pickups. The neck probably is because there is a parallel option in the current switch, but the bridge pickup may only be 2 conductor.

i think the first one would be the most effective from a tone stand point.
