Ok, does anyone think that an alternate version of daves party piece could be tabbed so that it could be played on a 6-string. I cant afford a 7-string.

Before I had a 7-string I used to play it on a 6. I would use my whammy pedal to shift from low E to low B for the low stuff. It sort of worked.

Not sure if that answers your question though. You can always play the sub-E stuff an octave up. It doesn't sound the same but it works.

yea, i thought about that but, the guitar i have that has a whammy bar doesnt have enough frets and i have a bc rich that goes up high enough doesnt have a whammy bar.

There is no way to transpose it to work on a 6 string guitar. Unless you detune your e string alone. When I only had a 6 I used my bar to do it. I think it would look cool to on lookers aswell.

All you really need to do is figure out what notes I play on the 7 string and transpose them up an octave. I really don't play that much on the 7 in that song so it shouldn't be too hard to manipulate it for a 6.

But hey, you hardly need to use the B that much on the song anyway. BCrowell sent me (and a few people) a version of it on 6 string if I remember correctly. Sounded cool.

Coincidentally my friend learnt Dave's Party Piece on a 6 string today...the way he gets round the few bits played on the low B is that he just doesn't play them, it still sounds awesome to me.

If it helps...on my Boss ME-50 I use the Tap Delay (Feedback: 9 o'clock, Effect Level: Max, Time: N/A), then tapped out the tempo on it in time with guitar pro to get the right delay

Thanks, I can get the delay ok, its trying to get the chorus and the tiny bit of drive right

I'd forgotten about the chorus, I'll have a go at that in a minute. With regard to the drive, Dave said that he just uses the clean channel.

It sounds to me like there should be no feedback, just one repeat on the delay. If the 9 o'clock setting on the ME-50 is the minimum then that's right.

Ah, I always thought feedback on minimum gave no delay, but you are correct though, it does give 1 repeat on minimum.

I also learnt the song a couple of weeks ago on my 6-string jem and I just don't play the B notes; it's just almost the same song and it feels great playing it (specially adding some cool distortion )
