What setup should I use? I already have a spare Tone Zone. I want heavy chugs and a smooth lead.

Thanks, what about a tonezone-neck and x2n-bridge, would it give me a sound I want? I kinda want to put the tonezone in the neck because its non f-spaced. Would I be able to shred rhythm with that setup or is it too much base?

... that can work (tz neck + x2n bridge)... i think that's michael romeo's setup. Taking it a push further, how about a TZ neck and a D-Activator X bridge?

Sounds good, but what is the advantage of D-Activator X over x2n, will it give me that fat round lead sound I so desire?

well for "death chugs", D-X bridge is where its at; very tight bass and mid-focused. The TZ in the neck would give a "fat round" sound if that's what you're taking about?

Excellent, excellent, much obliged. Are there any good clips with TZ in the neck on a basswood guitar? It wont get muddy given its high bass output?
